I am a Disco Stu! Whatever that means...

In other news, I have watched Blade Runner, American Gangster and Brokeback Mountain since my last post. Blade Runner is officaly the worst movie I've ever seen, American Gangster the most violent, and Brokeback Mountain...I don't know. I have some mixed feelings on it, but otherwise it was very good.

Next up: Shopgirl, V for Vendetta and Step Up 2: The Streets.

Later guys.

Disco Stu is from the Simpsons, the disco dude. Is Shopgirl that film with Clare Danes?

What was so bad about Blade Runner? I haven't seen it, though I am curious about it. The trailers were enough to tell me American Gangster wasn't my kind of movie and I while I am curious about Brokeback Mountain, I never bothered to see it. Usually I watch movies with friends or family, and none of them were interested. I saw V for Vendetta in the theater unfortunately. I disliked it immensely.

Neil: Yes it is.

Wolf: IDK, everything about Blade Runner was just so cheesy and stupid and not good. Is V for Vendetta really that bad? Cause I don't want to waste another 2 hours of my life.

I wasn't really sure what to think of Brokeback Mountain when I first saw it either. It was good but not as epic as it was made out to be. Enjoy watching those movies. I actually thought "V for Vendetta" was amazing. Definitely different to the other movies in its genre.

Too bad you didn't like Blade Runner. I think it's one of those movies that ppl who saw it when it was first released loved, like me. Very subjective. Congrats on the new level!

Wat was bad about Blade Runnger? I've seen V for Vendetta and i myself liked it but then again it's your opinion.

Congrats on leveling up! I started watching Brokeback Mountain but I never finished it. It was a little boring for me.

I love V for Vendetta immensely. I think it depends if you are the kind of person that thinks every movie needs to have a deep hidden message. I love dystopian movies, not because I want a social commentary. I couldnt care less. I just love the feel of them. Fighting for your rights. Its exciting. Some really good action and I love the 1812 Overture.

I do kind of enjoy distopian stories. Although I did just read Brave New World and didn't like it that much, and I couldn't even get through 1984. Or is that more utopian?

No way. Both very dystopian. I didnt really enjoy Brave New World either. But 1984 is one of my faves.

I just thought V for Vendetta was boring and long. I hated 1984 and Brave New World as well.

I generally don't like so-called "classics" anyway. I'm actually reading Atonement right now. The movie did a really good job staying true to the book, right down to Cee's dress.

Trust me, neither do I, in books or movies. Although occasionally I'll find one that's really good. I still read/watch classics because I want to feel educated. But in the end, I would still choose to watch what is considered crap over a "good" movie.

Congrats! I really really loved Brokeback Mountain. Can you put a finger on what you disliked? Blade Runner, the worst film? I haven't seen it in a long time but I am with Emiko. Perhaps a little slow at times, though, I'd understand that.
