Hey people!
Just a quick update today. The review for Need for Speed: ProStreet is up and you can read it HERE. It's a solid game that I recommend to anyone who likes to race around professional tracks and tune their ride to perfection.

In other news, got tired of Gothic 3 (fedex quests are tiresome) and The Witcher (same) and went back to play Mass Effect once more. Bioware have been hyping that some of the choices you make in ME1 will carry over to ME2, so now I kept my saved profile for when ME2 hits. Also, I finally got around to playing the Bring Down the Sky DLC, which was quite good, and very action oriented.
Now I'm playing through NWN2: Mysteries of Westgate (not done yet, but it's awesome and a review is coming) and Half-Life 2 + Episode 1 and 2. Good fun all around! Btw, what are you playing these days?
I'll be back with more blogs and reviews later. Peace!

Don't know what to say about the first NWN, I found it rather boring. It's your choice, but having played both expansions I can tell you that they're moderately entertaining at best. NWN2 on the other... that one is quite good. You said you played through NWN2 two times, I think you might enjoy the expansions as well. Both are worth it if you ask me, specially Mask of the Betrayer.
28th time, that's pretty hardcore. Though FO2 is the type of game in which you can discover something new every playthrough. Anyway, it's always nice to see a fellow Fallout fan.
And yes I loved almost every single game that they produced. Freespace, Fallout, Ps:T, Redneck Rampage, Carmageddon, Baldurs Gate.... you name it - I've played it. I guess I'm always compelled to compare games to Interplay's masterpieces.
Also, I'm a huge sucker for Post apocalyptic games in general.

Mass Effect again, eh? Honestly I'm not sure what to think about that one. I do intend on playing Mass Effect 2 eventually, but nothing in the original Mass Effect really impressed me all that much; most of it was pretty uninspired I thought. I played through Bring Down The Sky and found it to be fairly dull honestly; I actually thought it was worse than Fallout 3's DLC (although Mothership Zeta looks pretty stupid, so I may eat those words soon enough). At least Bring Down The Sky was free for us PC players.
Unfortunately I won't be playing Mysteries of Westgate due to my disdain for digital distribution, which Fallout 3's DLC has only cemented. Not to mention it's probably a lot larger than the FO3 DLC which averages around 500 mb. It's a shame really, I've heard nothing but good things about it.
As for what I'm playing, I'm mostly focusing on my annual play through of the Baldur's Gate series right now. I'm using EasyTutu to play BG1 in the BG2 engine at the moment with the BG1 NPC mod. Considering how unoriginal BioWare is, it's a damn shame that they haven't included any Minsc-like characters in any of their games since. I'm also still trying to finish TES: Arena, but I'm close to giving up on that one it's just so boring. I can only put up with so many Fed-Ex quests... and I thought the Neverwinter Nights OC was bad. I'm also trying out Barkley: Shut Up And Jam: Gaiden - Chapter One Of The Hoopz Saga.
As for what I'm playing I just finished a replay of CoD4 and it took me less than 4 hours to do so. If you remember our debate about CoD4 you already know what I think of that game. But I also finished Brother's in Arms: Road to Hill 30 and that's an outstanding WWII FPS. It uses a tactical element and has a much better story than MoH or CoD. Also you must rely much more on your squad and tactics more than brute force. It's an excelent game and the best WWII shooter out on the marked. I also played a little Marvel U.A. and it's a fun little game if you like superheroes but the game almost demands a controller. The mouse+keyboard doesn't work very well and I don't have a joypad so I'm not sure what I will do there. Broken Sword 2 is also a good little game you can pick up from Gog if you want. I loved Dead Space but that game also have some serious issues.
Looking forward to your MoW review. Take care, m8.
Now, about NFS ProStreet, get it if you like customizing cars, specially performance tuning. Because if you don't then I doubt you'll find it compelling enough. GRID is very straightforward and, ultimately, an arcade racer, ProStreet leans more towards simulator (though it's not quite there). They're quite different.
Good to hear you liked BiA, but I generally don't play WW2 games, except for CoD1 and 2, so I can't comment on it. Also, CoD4 might have a 4 hour campaign (took me more than that though) but it's frickin' sweet
As for CoD4 I will say that the sniper level was amazing. It was one of the best levels I have ever played but the rest of the game is top notch but it lacks that extra something that some games have. AvP2 is a mighty fine game that I have played through twice and also played a little bit MP with. The game is really fantastic and I don't know why it wasn't a big hit when it came out. It got great diversity in gameplay, horror elements, cool guns and you get to play as all 3 factions. It's a fun little game.
1. It's very easy; most races I'd just press acceleration and turn every now and then and I'd win by miles. 2. The car driving model is completely ridiculous; you can enter a 90 degree turn at 150-200 km/h without braking or anything and the car will do it. It's like there's no gravity at all, no side forces pushing you towards the outside of a corner if you go in too fast.
3. The AI opponents slow down before every corner, even the faster ones. It's no wonder you beat them by miles, with the exception of Highway Battles, where they put up a decent challenge.
4. Police pursuits are simplified and easier than the mega pursuits you;d get in NFS Most Wanted. There you'd have multiple objectives / pursuit (like destroy 20 cop cars + get your state bounty up to $100000 + avoid 10 road blocks + avoid 3 spike strips), in Undercover you just get one objective / pursuit, which makes for less of a challenge, as well as a shorter experience.
5. Graphics are waaayyyy over the top. After playing UT3 I thought I had developed an immune system for excessive Bloom lighting. Well, then I played NFS Undercover, and it made my eyes bleed.
Overall, I found this to be the lowest point of the series. It's just not a fun game, not even close actually. That's my 2 cents on it.

To be honest I played through ME once and it was enough for me. Don't get me wrong, its a good game, but it felt like something was missing. I got the impression that this game is Gears of War with a touch of role playing. Which is pretty good, but I wanted to see more Rpg. NwN is a great game, unfortunately I haven't bought the expansion packs and I can't find them anywhere in stores. HL2 is also a great game. Can't wait for the next episode.
I'm playing The Witcher and World of Warcraft nowadays. I've ordered Persona 4 on the Ps2. I hope its any good. I've finished Fallout 2 for the 28th time now, Nwn2 for the second time, going to grab Baldur's Gate again and finish it too.
