So I made a nice little increase over the past few days. I'm sure I'm not the quickest to make it to level 3 but now I am here let's have a look at what I can do:
Level 3: Post comments on News Articles (not 100% sure yet)
Level 3: a Sig (picture/gif/jpeg), reader review posting
(Source here)
Comments, signature and reader reviews.
Most forums will let you do the first two off the bat, though I suppose it didn't take much longer to get the same kind of privilage. Reviews are interesting though. I suppose by level 3 there is some reliability that completely pointless reviews wont be written. However, considering the official game spot reviews who knows - I mean they surely count as level ¶ (and we'll pretend that means infinite as I can't find the symbol.)
First I want to lay out a better format for reviews, a really tight structure which will give you a chance to get a more mathamatical look at a games worth rather than an overlying film of flavour which you're used to.
If you haven't read my brothers review of pokemon gold you should. It's only flaw is it's length. It's probably more descriptive than analytical. Depends what you value - If you want to know what goes on in a game or how enjoyable what goes on is. Truth is you want a little of both.
Gamespot has obviously influenced my brother though he reviews a little better than them. Decription, decription and then a moan about control or excitement at graphics is all I see in the video reviews.
and after that little rant - "Good reviewing guide for good reviews" to be written soon.

Am quite the noob. I've joined mainly to take a look at why my younger brother invests his time in. It's a good little system.
This site style is nothing new and seems a little too generous in reviews: Most games will have a score above 8 based on both user reviews and the offical. This is an obvious flaw because you need a range to get a real feel for a game's placing. If the lowest scoring game was 8 and highest 10, technically you should spread the 2 point range accross 10 points.
You also need bench mark games - The worst game ever and the best game ever. That way you can place games on how they compare in worth to those games. Community voters to pick best and worst ever would work well. If you find a better or worse game replace the bench mark.
Also, if you're reviewing a game don't get hung up on graphics. You all do it. If it looks good it's good graphics. If it looks more "realistic" than the last game it isn't better or worse. Realism in games visuals isn't a requirement for quality - It's not like the majority of story lines are realisitic.
But yeh, I'm going to write a "good guide of good reviews" once I've taken the time out to think it all through. Might get some of you out of the competition with friends to own and into the enjoyment factor.

Some people just don't have opinions. Like farueulogy.
farueulogy must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could farueulogy possibly have for not rating a single film?
