GAMES: GameSpot GameFAQs MOVIES: Metacritic Movietome Comic-Con

I just realized something of great importance as I was strolling through Costco today (Costco, as well as Sam's Club and BJ's, is a wholesale club where I often buy my video games due to the discounted price). As I was rummaging through their limited selection of Wii, PSP, and DS titles, it struck me how little I've purchased games for my Wii. To date, I've bought two games for the Wii: the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Metal Slug Anthologies, both of which are among the best Wii games available. For over ten years, Nintendo has delivered satisfaction to my gaming needs with their products; I've spent innumerous amounts of money on games for my NES, GameBoy, GBA, GameCube, and both of my DS's, yet I've only purchased two Wii games.

This is how I translate my recent buying habits: as of recently, Nintendo has really turned its attention to the "casual" gamer (see my latest blog for more livid language on the "casual" gamer). Due to this decline in the "hardcore" market, in which I would fit, I've been turned away from multiple titles such as March of the Penguins, Surf's Up, Big Brain Academy, Mario Party 8, and WiiPlay. As Jeff often reiterates, there are also just too many games that are basically mini-game compellations. Although not all of the games out for Wii are just mini-games, too many are.

With the announcement of WiiFit as Nintendo's "colossal" game at E3 (where was SSBB and my Pokemon MMO, Nintendo?), Nintendo is just setting itself up for a lack of "hardcore" gamers; meaning, I really think that Nintendo is going to lose its infamous Nintendo-nauts. But kiddies, don't think I mean that Nintendo will drop good first-party games, for that would be a serious drop of sales for Nintendo; I also know some kids that would probably walk to Redmond, Washington (which I think is where Nintendo of America is located) and blow it up.

*Cough, one month to college, cough*

Later, I'm going to go play some Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops; that game is amazing...Oh, and for the one person who maybe reads my reviews, I might have a Starfox: Command review up in the next week.

Yeah, I hate how to Wii is turning out, too. The only reason I'd buy a Wii, Zelda: Twilight Princess, is a game I can just get on the GameCube, so I really don't think the Wii is worth the money. I'd rather get a 360 or PS3 instead..

The exciting titles have yet to come. I think it travels the same route as the 360: the best games are yet to be released...

I've never been into the casual games you listed in your blog. They have never caught my attention. Which is the reason why have not looked twice at the Wii.

the whee is another GC. I feel sorry for the peeps who got one coz I always thought it would be a bit of a dead-end, never mind, you have youe PS3 to keep you warm and the truth about sony is that they always start off slow with a bit of a wobble here and there but sooner or later they come out on top. Send me a friend request (bosslockstock) we can organise the fall of man together with Coolcon as soon as he gets his act together

You people are all lame! C'mon, casual gaming is not that bad for people who can't play video games. e.g. my mom and grandparents. For the video game illiterate casual gaming is good. And for the non-casuals,such as myself SSBB AND MP3 are coming!
