I'm going to create a website. Even after it's up for a few years, it'll still be pretty buggy but generally usable. Then I'll improve it by putting up a site that's virtually unusable, hard on the eyes, and on which practically nothing works. I'll let people critique the site, and pretend that I intend to use those criticisms to make the site better, while in fact I have no intention of doing any such thing. Months later, most things still won't work. Then I'll improve the site even more, adding extra steps to doing things like checking for PMs and submissions, and even getting to my own profile. I won't bother adding a scroll bar to my list of favorite shows, so that you'll go crazy trying to get to the shows at the bottom. That makes sense, right?

I think the thing I love the most about this site is that on the main page you get to leave comments. I saw people saying things about the new layout, both good and bad, so decided to add my two cents. Then when I decided to look for my comment, I couldn't find it. It looks like these comments are randomly appearing in various threads, so that in the middle of people talking about the season finale of Heroes, you suddenly get someone complaining that the site sucks. Wow. Seriously, what is the agenda here? This is a professionally developed site? With each "improvement" I become more and more convinced that the people creating this site are also trying to sabotage it.

I'm thoroughly convinced that in an effort to save money, TV.com hired ESL Jr. High students to orchestrate the improvement and facilitation of the site. That's the only bit of reasoning that makes any sense.

You guys are hilarious.

Awesome idea! But I think you need to take it a step further by making the text as white as the background. Not even TV.com has done that.

They probably will at some point, though.

I don't understand why tv.com just can't go back to the way things were. It's not that hard, yet CNET is too stubborn to realize that their hits per day are going down like clockwork.

Still so much white... I can't see

Anyone else thinks that the webpage designers love white or something?

I'm even using GameSpot to post these.

Maybe we are part of a brand new phenomenon known as "Forum Punk'd." It really doesn't make any sense as to how this site can continue to get worse.

Sylent: Believe me, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if that turned out to be the case. In fact, it's one of the few things that makes sense. Orangemann: Too bad this site is so sad.

DSZ: Don't say that too loud. They'll save money by just putting up a blank page, claiming that it's cutting edge with it's incredible white on white font. And then they'll get a few stooges to come on and say that it's an improvement. Too bad no one will actually be able to read it.

Hurricane: Unfortunately, the problem is escalating, and I think they've taken it beyond the point where they can just admit that they made a strong. Going back to the old version, as much as many of us would like it, would be an admission that they screwed up, and they just can't do that.

Sherasbear: That's the ironic thing, isn't it? One of the most common complaints about the site overhaul a few months ago was that it was so white that it hurt the eyes to look at it for too long. In fact, my eyes feel strained just in the time I've been typing these comments. So what do they do? Make it more white. Sure, makes perfect sense.

Lightning: I don't think anyone knows what the hell these designers are thinking. I swear that one of the few explanations that makes sense is that they're purposely screwing this up. It's possible the people doing this page are just as frustrated as us, and are just being instructed by the execs to do it this way.

Speeps: It is getting worse. That's what's frustrating so many people, and after they pretended to care about our concerns, they turned around and made the site even worse. Makes no sense, unless they're purposely trying to drive away users.

I'm with ya vator... This site needs to fix everything, and just go back to the way it was. All this white still blinds me, and with everything now having small black text against the white, it hurts my eyes even more. The funny thing is, whenever I got to Gamespot or Movietome, I start to remember the good days from here at tv.com, and then get lost on those sites...

Spidey: Unfortunately, they're never going to turn it back. I really think most of the changes they're doing now is to spite the people who complained. It is funny how Gamespot and Movietome are both much easier on the eyes. People complained about the brightness of this site, so in response, they made it even brighter.
