I read this story a few days ago and it touched my heart so I wanted to share it with you.
An elderly man come to the clinic where I work to heal a wound in his right hand. He was in a hurry and while I was treating his wound I asked him what was that that he needed to do so urgentely.
He told me that he had to go to the old's people home to have breakfast with his wife who lives there. He told me that his wife was in that place since long and that she had a very advanced alzheimer.
While I was finishing bandaging his hand, I asked him again if she would be worried in case he was late that morning.
No, he told me, she doesn't know who am I. It's been 5 years since she doesn't recognise me.
I was confused and asked him. If she doesn't know who you are, why you need to go to have breakfast with her every morning?
The elderly man smiled to me and clapped my hands tenderly and told me.
she doesn't know who am I but I still know who she is.
You see guys, that's the kind of love I want in my life. True love is not just about appereance and romanticism, true love is to accept everything the other one is, would be and never would be again.
