i haven't written a blog for quite some time now. i've been working quite a lot these last two months well maybe not as much as in a normal job because i only reached 90 % part time but it was pretty heavy work at times because i was carrying tons of books up and down stairs. well, registring books and reorganizing the trade union's library and even carrying all this books around actually was a pretty satisfying work since for once it had nothing to do with legal work. i was pretty devastated because i couldn't prolong my last internship but by now i've realized that it was some kind of destiny and made perfect sense. i guess i wouldn't have gone to london if it had been possible to stay there. for one thing i wouldn't have met jodie for another i wouldn't have drunk any guinness and if i hadn't, my arm wouldn't have hurt as much as it did and i wouldn't have decided to go and finally see a doctor. if i hadn't we would have never found out about my problems with the thyroid glands and i wouldn't be in treatment by now. if i had been allowed to stay, i couldn't have visited my grandmother in hospital as often as i did. i wouldn't have met all these great people at the trade union and one of the best things happened two weeks ago. so far i hadn't had anybody to learn with. i found out that the guy who gives legal advise to union members is going to take the exam in spring as well. when i told him that so did i, he suggested that we could do some learning together. this is great. he seems to be pretty much of a genius, he's worked with all the legal subjects i haven't and vice versa and he seems to be a really nice guy.

this week i'm cleaning my flat (something i don't really like to do) and next week i want to start learning for my laywer's exam. to be honest, i'm a little worried about the six months ahead. i think that compared to learning for this exam, five years of university were a bloody vacation ... but still, if i ever want to stand a chance to go back to the place were i did my first internship, i've got to take and pass the laywer's exam.

for some strange reason i haven't been too busy catching up with shows lately. here's what i've been watching though:

battlestar galactica

bsg

i'm somewhere towards the finale of season 1 and so far i think that bsg a s pretty amazing show. btw, i'm really happy that the crush for callum keith rennie has made two people starting to watch one of my favourite shows "due south".

breaking bad

breaking bad

another brilliant show with an incredible cast. i'm somewhere in the beginning of season 2 so far.

true blood

true blood

i don't know ... i've been a huge fan of season 1 but for some reason, i was a little disappointed with some of season 2. i absolutely hated the maryann storyline in the end. i thought i was very weak and led to some incredibly embarrassing scenes. let's hope that season 3 gets better.

supernatural

supernatural

well, what can i say ... i'm so happy, supernatural is back. season 5 is amazing so far and last week's episode was among the best ever with an incredibly intelligent storyline and jensen ackles topping himself once more. sam and dean parting the episode before was heartbreaking and i'm glad, they're back together. castiel brings some nice comic relief to the show and misha collins is really great in his role. i guess, supernatural is one of the very few shows that really get better by the episode while a lot of other shows are just heading down after some time ...

... which brings me to

heroes

heroes

which is a little better at the moment but still fails to come even close to amazing season 1.

castle

castle

i've only seen the first episode of season 2 so far (and that was great fun) so not much to say about it till now.

how i met your mother ...

how i met your mother

is always the first of the monday shows i watch. so far it's funny as ever and i really like the barney/robin relationship development ...

fringe

fringe

i've decided to not eat anything before watching "fringe" because it seems to turn more disgusting by the episode but apart from that ... great as ever ...

there are a few new show's i've started to watch.

glee

glee

i've been contemplating about "glee" a lot ... i guess, it's some kind of a really pointless show in a way but actually quite some fun to watch.

the forgotten

the forgotten

so far i quite like it, but poor christian slater ... i think he is a pretty good actor (he's proven it in quite a few movies) but he's just not what i'd call a crowdpleaser. i think he'd make a great villain or psychopath but he's just not that good when he should gain the audience's sympathies.

eastwick

eastwick

i've seen the first two episodes and i've decided to stick with it for now because i couldn't miss out on a show that has paul gross in it ...

flashforward

flashforward

out of the new shows this is the one i love most. it's got a most brilliant and promising storyline so far and i can't wait to have it continued!

well, i guess that's almost all for now ... i've seen "up" and "inglorious basterds" and i've read "to kill a mockingbird" and i'm reading "no. 1 ladies' detective agency" right now but maybe that's going to be stuff for another blog ...

Your job sounds pretty cool But I've already told you that. I can't wait to meet Jodie as well. Awesome, studying with other people really helps Wow that exam sounds really hard, but I'm sure you'll pwn it BSG is a great show! Leoben is totally my favorite part I'm so glad I have started watching Due South cause that's even more awesome than BSG. I'm even excited about watching the seasons without Callum! I was a huge fan of TB season 2 up until the three or four last episodes. Those were very disapointing. Supernatural is still my favorite show on TV I'm really loving this season. Castle is fun! I love it. HIMYM is always the first monday show I watch too It's so awesome, I'm glad you love it as well. I've only seen the first episode of Fringe, but I don't think I'll be watching more. I just don't feel like watching shows that I don't love. That's the same reason I'm not watching Glee. But I've seen 4 episodes of that. I'm totally only watching Eastwick for Paul Gross as well, the show is actually pretty bad But he's kinda hot so far and I really wanna love him more so that I can love Due South even more. So in other words this is a show I'm watching to make another show more awesome I really need to watch the FF pilot !!

True Blood season one was great but have not seen S2. Supernatural sounds awesome this season I cant wait to start watching it soon, I have to say S4 disappointed me. Heroes has started well this season lets hope one day it gets to the S1 greatness. Fringe had a excellent first ep back but then the last two have been a bit boring. Flash Forward is intresting I really want to know what happens next it is a lot like Lost in the aspect. Glee is really liked on this site at first I thought no I wont watch it but now I'm thinking of trying it to see what the fuss is about.

fringe gets better by the episode

Hi Bea! Glad to see you found the time to blog. That's good that you're somewhat enjoying your job now. So things are working out. That's great to hear. How's your grandma, btw? Good luck with all the studying in the coming months. You can do it! BSG, Breaking Bad, and True Blood are all great shows, with BB in my current top 3. I didn't like Maryann either and hated how they focused on her, and not on the vampires, in the end. SN writers are bringing out their best stuff since last season, which is really great for the fans. Agree with Heroes. I've begun to have some interest in the show again. Yay for watching Eastwick! I find the trick to enjoying that show's not to take it too seriously. FF's the best new show so far, IMO. Enjoy the rest of your week!

I'm glad you're enjoying your job And good luck on the studies!
I love SN so much! I love having it back, and I am so scared it's gonna end after this season, coz I dread not getting new eps Cas is awesome. And Jensen was truly outstanding in the latest ep! Just amazing really.
Castle is still good
I'm currently in the middle of the 3rd season of HIMYM.
I will check out Flashforward. Everyone seems to like/love it, and it sounds like a great consept. I have to see

UP! I love that movie! I love it so much! I have seen it twice so far, might see it again tomorrow. It is so amazing! And I'm not even that big on movies, much less animated movies, but this one.. it's just fabulous! So well done in every way! I Love it! Love it I say!

Due South does rock Good luck on the lawyer's exam. I can imagine it to be a lot of work. Cool that you found a study buddy, though! Wow, we share a lot of shows! Well, I am behind on Glee and I only watched the Eastwick pilot cause of Paul Gross. Fringe, am am behind on, and Heroes, well, I kind of ditched it last season... The Forgotten is still on my Hard drive and I have to catch up on this week's shows first.. Hope you'll keep enjoying your job!

You've been busy. Sounds interesting actually. I love how all the things sort of circled around to being good in the end. I'm watching the forgotten, Eastwick, and Glee of the new shows as well. Ive enjoyed the new season of HIMYM, Castle, and especially Supernatural. I'm glad things are going well for you. Jeffery

Season 2 True Blood had almost nothing good about it, almost meaning Godric. Best thing the show has ever done, especially in reguards to Eric's character. For me Heroes is rebuilding but until they accept some things they will never bounce back. For one they need to use Sylar as a character like they began in volume 3 and face the fact that he's one of the best things the show has going for it. They seem to be working on it though just going by spoilers and the first few episodes. I am hopeful that they are slowly rebuilding but it's to soon to tell. Castle is always funny but it's little more then that to me but I do enjoy it. HIMYM is always a good show I've just never connected with it very strongly. How far into Glee are you? Episode 4 really shows you what the show can become and I think they'll get there but first seasons are always rocky. I'm enjoying it so far though, more then I thought I would.

EM - Another blogger returns from the ether. I'm a big HIMYM fan as you may remember... need to catch a couple of your other picks(if I can only figure out what to 'un-DVR' some of my 300 saved shows). It's a jungle in there. Jon

Isn't it funny how life works out sometimes? One event, your internship ending, sets off a series of events that enrich your life in ways you couldn't imagine. I loved most of TB S2, the Maryanne thing dragged on longer than I preferred, but overall I loved it. Supernatural is awesome so far this season. Love that Cass is a regular. I'm loving Castle more and more this season. The supporting characters really play off the Castle and Beckett brilliantly. The thing about Glee is that it's enjoyable to watch. It is a bit pointless, but it's one of those guilty pleasures. I don't LOVE the forgotten, but I keep coming back and I love Christian in anything he does. The last episode was the best thus far. The story and victim's story really touched me. FlashForward is definately my favorite new drama. I can't wait for the new episode tonight.

congratulations for being first, david! i really liked season 4 of supernatural even though it was a little too dark for me at times. of course it's always been that but season 4 topped the other seasons in that respect. the producers have promised that season 5 is going to be a little lighter again though so i'm really looking forward to it.

i really hope you will be able to meet jodie, daria. she's a great person and meeting her has been one of the highlights of my year so far. i'm so happy you like "due south" so much! *dancesaroundthetablechanting* i'm sure you are going to like seasons 1 and 2 as well, they're amazing! the first time around i only watched the first two episodes of "fringe" and i didn't like it too much either. since a lot of people in here love it that much, i decided to give it another try and finally got hooked. around episode 4 it really starts to take off. i really hope you'll get into paul gross as much as i did. he's a brilliant actor and ... of course ... he looks very good as well ... and you really should take up watching flashforward so far it's incredible!
Posted Oct 8, 2009 2:58 am PT
zala: it's only a very small library but i still registered 1'600 books and magazines and there is some very old, very interesting stuff around it like books from 1893 and some pretty cool trade union publications (why is it called "trade union" in the british term anyway, i think the american word "labor union" is more accurate ...).
Posted Oct 8, 2009 3:03 am PT
Well it seems likely since I'm going to London this winter I'm actually watching Due South right now. Yeah I'm sure I'll like them too, because I really love Fraser now too. No I meant I only watched the first episode of season 2. I've seen the whole first season, I got maybe a little hooked but never fell in love with the show. Well I'll never love him as much as Callum that's for sure, but I hope I'll get into him as well. I've seen a few interviews and sh*t, he seems pretty cool in real life too Yeah I really should watch FlashForward...
Posted Oct 8, 2009 4:25 am PT
i absolutely agree on fringe getting better by the episode, pat. i'm really glad, i gave it a second try after i had stoped watching it after two episodes the first time around.
Posted Oct 8, 2009 7:10 am PT
hey, mack! i won't go to work as frequently as i did for the last two months anymore since i'm going to start learning on monday. i'm planning on working for one day every other week though so i can get my head cleared a little and see something else besides my books. my grandma is much better by now. of course her age makes her quite weak but her old smile is totally back. i'm going to watch the new episode of eastwick tonight, let's see how it works out.
Posted Oct 8, 2009 7:16 am PT
inger-anne: i'm worried about supernatural ending as well because it's such an amazing show with a great storyline and some brilliant acting. i'm a little ambivalent though. i'd rather have it end while it's still great and i wouldn't want it to be dragged on and finally getting weaker. o.k., i guess you can't compare it to "prison break" or "heroes" since supernatural has kept its quality up for the whole time now and even got better. i guess sam and dean are going to prevent armageddon from happening and find their original feelings for each other again and sam is going to get his redemption and for me that would be a pretty satisfying ending. i don't see them going back to just hunting ghosts and demons again and what bigger could there be than fighting the devil himself?
Posted Oct 8, 2009 7:30 am PT
i can't express how happy i am that you and daria like "due south" that much, ela. it's great that it gets the recognition it deserves. paul gross is pretty sexy in "eastwick" so far and i'm planning on watching the lastest episode this evening. i've seen all of "glee" so far and i quite enjoy it. i still haven't given up hope on "heroes" because i think that what once has been that good might get back to that one day.
Posted Oct 8, 2009 7:35 am PT
thanks, jeffery. supernatural is amazing so far and i've finally seen all of "castle" and it's still great. i usually really believe that things are going to turn out just as they're supposed to be because i've usually got the most positive attitude you can possibly imagine, but my stupid thyroid glands had played a trick on my psyche as well since an underfunction can actually even lead to depression. i might have had only a very mild one, but it still took me some time and my medication working out to find back to my old positive self.
Posted Oct 8, 2009 7:40 am PT
smgslayer: i really liked the godrick storyline because it actually made erik more of an interesting and almost "human" character. for some strange reason i think that the dullest characters actually are bill and sookie which is some kind of inconvenient since they are supposed to be the main characters. i've seen all episodes of "glee" by now and the whole teenage pregnancy story really gives some more meaning to it.
Posted Oct 8, 2009 7:43 am PT
i'm so happy you're back, jon! 300 shows? wow, that's a lot! i had actually planed to catch up on 21 shows this summer but i have only managed to watch "how i met your mother", "true blood" and "the no. 1 ladies' detective agency" and to start watching "battlestar galactica" and "breaking bad".
Posted Oct 8, 2009 7:50 am PT
emiko: the interaction between castiel and dean is great and sometimes even provides some comical relief. "hippie"-cass was just great for instance. the funny thing about "true blood"'s season 2 was that in the final episode the only character i really still cared for somehow was hoyt. i'm pretty positive though that they will bring the show back to its old self ... . "castle" really is a lot of fun to watch and the supporting characters really are great, i'm glad they seem to be more important by now. i haven't seen this week's episode of "the forgotten" so far. as i said, christian slater is a great actor. i was pretty disappointed when they cancelled "my own worst enemy", but i still think that he was more beliveable as edward than he was as henry.
Posted Oct 8, 2009 7:56 am PT
daria: i actually think that season 2 takes up pretty much where season 1 finished. i don't know though if it's just me or if it really gets more disgusting by the episode. i can only take a certain amount of blood and guts and it's not too much fun to just listen to a show while your eyes are closed ...
Posted Oct 8, 2009 7:59 am PT
Yeah I thought the fist episode was just as good, but I'd rather watch Due South for example than Fringe, that's why I don't bother watching it. I'm really not the person to ask if things get disgusting or not... I don't pay any attention to it
Posted Oct 8, 2009 9:49 am PT
watching "due south" is a brilliant idea, daria. wow, i know i'm repeating myself but i's really excited, you like it that much.
Posted Oct 8, 2009 10:28 am PT
I love it! and sad that I only have 4 episodes left with CKR even though I'm sure I'll love the show without him as well
Posted Oct 8, 2009 10:45 am PT
wow, you seem to have watched seasons 3 and 4 at an incredible speed!
Posted Oct 8, 2009 11:33 am PT
Well, yea, of course, I don't want SN to drag on forever and get old. But I don't want it to end yet But, who knows what Kripke plans to do with the rest/end of the season? It may not be possible to take it any further. (I am a bit worried Kripke is being his usual sneaky self with the talks of a possible S6. I worry he's planning on killing them both, but covers it by talking about their future.)
But what ever happens, you are right, it is hard to top this. Going back to just your regular haunting easily becomes lame now
Posted Oct 9, 2009 9:38 am PT
inger-anne: i actually think that they might have sam die ...
Posted Oct 10, 2009 2:47 am PT
Only Sam? No.. Well, I don't know, but what I think they should is either keep them both alive, or kill them both. All killing Sam would really show is that Dean is over sacrificing himself for his brother. I do not want to see that. Either they both go on to live miserable lifes after the show ends, or they both die.
Posted Oct 10, 2009 6:42 am PT
dean has sacrificed so much for sam and i'm sure he still would be prepared to give his life for him, but i rather thought that maybe sam would prove to be worth to be trusted by rescueing dean this time ...
Posted Oct 10, 2009 7:06 am PT
As in Sam catches a bullet or whatever in Dean's place? Well, if done correctly, that could work. But then it has to be super obvious that Sam is dying in Dean's place, rather than Sam dying and Dean just doing nothing. Coz Dean is still willing to die for Sam, or for the job, for what he believes in, but he wouldnt sacrifice/kill himself in the same way as he previously did.
Posted Oct 13, 2009 7:13 am PT
yes, of course i thought of something along the line of sam dying by sacrifcing himself for dean. i don't think that dean will ever give up on sam ...
Posted Oct 13, 2009 3:09 pm PT
Right.. Yea, no.
