Thanks everyone for your good wishes regarding my arm! I had the steroid injection on Monday and had some pain for about a day or so. She actually injected right into the main muscle that has been causing most of the problems. I have a nice big bruise there now. It seems to be feeling better now, but I won't really know until I go back to work how much it's working. It looks like I will be off work at least until August 19 but I'll know more when I see the doctor again next week.

So, with all the free time, I have been watching a lot of new TV shows (well, at least for me). I am feeling like I miss Buffy and Angel, so I will be starting a rewatch of those as well, especially since I've been able to convice a few of my Supernatural friends to start watching!

Nip/Tuck S2-4

I finished S2, S3 and started watching S4.

Looks like we cannot use spoiler tags, so don't look if you don't want to know. There are big spoilers for Nip/Tuck here.

S2 was great. I can't decide if S3 was better or not. I correctly predicted that Christian was never going to really get married, , and I also strongly suspected the Carver had taken Kimber, since she really seemed to want to get married. In the end, I was partially correct about the Carver. I did say it was Quentin, but I honestly had no idea about Kit being involved too. It certainly explains why she didn't give up his secret when they were in bed together at Christian's place earlier in the season.

There are just so many things going on in this series, that makes it so fun to watch. The arc with Matt and his interesting choices of sexual partners, from the transgendered Ava to pre-op Cherrty, to the Aryan Ariel and her psycho dad. Julia finally spilling the beans about Christian being Matt's bio-dad, Chrisitan sleeping with Julia's mom. Sean getting off with the Miss Kimber doll....and the list of course goes on and on....

S4 is starting out very strangely. I think they are going a bit overboard with the special guest stars....

Gilmore Girls S1-7

While I have been home I watched all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls in about 3 weeks. I did not think it was possible, but I did it. My head is still spinning. I actually liked the show a lot and appreciate the humor. I am quite a bit like Lorelai in the kind of things she says and not always knowing when to just be quiet. Rory definitely got on my nerves about half the time. For a smart girl she did a lot of dumb stuff. I am not sure if I love or hate Michel. He is so damn annoying but he says the most ridculous things. I guess his entertainment value outweighs the annoyance factor. I won't even start on the Luke/Lorelai/Christopher thing. Overall I am glad I watched the show and now I sort of wish it wasn't over. I have to stop watching stuff after it's been cancelled. I did the same thing with Veronica Mars. At some point I might mention some of my favorite episodes. Right now, it's all just a very funny blur.

Dark Angel S2

I admit to this guilty pleasure of only watching this for Jensen Ackles who plays Alec. I'd seen parts of S1 on TV but never really followed the show. I have seen about half of S2 and I'd probably say I'm not a big fan, but some of the storylines are good, if a bit farfetched. So far, my favorite episode was "The Berrisford Agenda" which focuses on Alec. No surprises there for anyone right?

Smallville S4-5

Yes, it's a testament to how much time I have on my hands when I start watching Smallville. I admit I only watched S4 for Jensen Ackles at the suggestion of Kimmy and Engel, but I was enjoying the storyline with Jason andhis mother looking for the stones, but they really leave too many things unexplained or hard to follow. I'm not complaining about things that are hard to believe, like when they all went to China for a day. I am used to things like that, and they did have a good reason for going. I know Angel forum people warned me about this show, but I let myself get sucked in anyway. How on earth did Jason go from being mad at his mother about setting him up with Lana, hiding the stone from her, to a few episodes later he kills someone? This needs some explanation! I actually started watching S5 just because James Marsters is in it. I know I will have lots of questions about things so I'm not letting myself get too involved in the storyline. I have to admit I find it amazing how often they can come up with excuses for Tom Welling to take his shirt off. A friend suggested it's made of krypto-fibers and he's actually allergic to them so he needs to take them off regularly.

And a Treat

I'm glad to hear the arm is feeling a lot better. I hope it stays better when you go back to work.

My you have been watching a lot of tv lately.
I love Nip/Tuck but I think you might be right about them going overboard with celeb guest stars.
I liked Jensen in Dark Angel, I didn't care for him at all in Smallville.

Thanks for the cookies, I left some for the others.

Good news about your arm! I've been thinking about watching The Gilmore Girls straight through-- thanks for bringing them to my attention, again. I'll have to see what my video store has to offer in the way of rentals.

***Comes back for a cookie*** YuMmy! Thanks!

You watched all 7 seasons of Gilmore in 3 weeks?. I am in awe. I watched all 7 seasons of Buffy but it took me months!. I started in November and finished around June/July. I watched 2 episodes a night. Sometimes I would go week because of family stuff. But 3 weeks?. Wow. I liked Michel. He was annoying, but he was funny.

I am a Smallville fan. I think seasons 4 and 5 were the best seasons of that show.

Oh, I'll be back for more cookies. Make sure Ms. Alba is waiting for me too.

glad your arm is feeling better. i loved Gilmore Girls and im a lot like Lorelai!!!! i agree the Rory did some dumb things in the show but it still was great!

oh
Posted Aug 9, 2007 11:21 am PT
Holy Cow!! Where are Jessica Alba's Clothes??

I still think Tom is just allergic to his shirts, thats why he has to keep taking them off!!

I can't make up my mind what to watch now!! I was gonna watch The OC, so I can finally see Marissa die, But then everyone talking about DA made me want to rewatch it. Then last night I was gonna start buffy so I can watch it all the way through before coming to see you, but now I can't make up my mind!!

I hate when shots give you a bruise, I hope its helping though so your arm gets better.

greta--well, if i cna't be online or go to work, i have to do something! did some reading too.

i agree about jensen in smallville, they really didn't do as much with his character as they could have. they almost ignored him for most of the second half of the season, and when they didn't he did stuff that didn't make sense....
Posted Aug 9, 2007 2:34 pm PT
sparkle--you should watch GG, they are great fun, but you will need something to watch in between because they can be a bit much....but overall i highly recommend the series. sorry i can't be more specific on which seasons were best...
Posted Aug 9, 2007 2:36 pm PT
barry--well i haven't been working so i have all day to watch....i did all of buffy and angel in about 4 months, withuot really trying. some days i'd watch a lot and other days nothing, plus i did watch several other series in between. if you are not doing anything else you can easily watch nearly a season a day...probably a whole season if you stay up late. i might try that just to see how i'd feel afterwards i'm almost done with Smallville S5 now, might finish today or tomorrow. i heard good things about S6 also. i'm kind of getting confused because sometimes Metropolis seems close to Smallville and other times they make it sound like it's really far away. any idea how far it really is?
Posted Aug 9, 2007 2:39 pm PT
grace--totally agree with you about GG. what other shows do you like?
Posted Aug 9, 2007 2:41 pm PT
I have been missing Buffy too (just rewatched most of Angel so that's less a miss), but I'm here at my dorm this week and all these dvd's (movies, the xfiles) remind me of diff buffy episodes

I didn't feel that bad about the GG cancellation, it ended at the right time IMO, it's kinda like Buffy in that way, it was great while it lasted and it stopped before lasting too long (well, off course, Buffy could've gone on forever and not bored me, but still )

I want to rewatch Dark Angel too, but so far I have yet to obtain the dvd's

I liked both s4 and 5 of Smallville, it was those seasons I first downloaded and I loved them couldn't get enough of the show after them whereas I never really got that much into it during the first seasons

and what a treat, I can't decide which is yummiest
Posted Aug 9, 2007 2:42 pm PT
lin--as you can see i also think smallville is lame, but i'm not watching for the plot so i'm learning to live with it....*humps lin back*
Posted Aug 9, 2007 2:49 pm PT
kimmy--i have no idea about Jessica's clothes, plus i don't really like her blond but i wasn't being too picky on the photos today

i don't think anything can make me watch the OC. but i am up for doing buffy again and i still need to finish DA. i'm trying to make it last longer and not watch them all up at once more alec goodness *drools*
Posted Aug 9, 2007 2:55 pm PT
Keep us updated on the arm situation...hope that it'll get better soon.

Ohh that picture of Jensen is great..and grabs one of those cookies...they're so yummy!

hi
Posted Aug 9, 2007 4:21 pm PT
wout--yes it is time to watch buffy and angel again! i got some of my DA from Netflix (dvd rentals) and some, well, i just won't exactly say *cough* as for the treats, have some of everyone
Posted Aug 9, 2007 4:47 pm PT
christy--thanks, will keep posting updates...yes, jensen is better than chocolate chip cookies, isn't he?
Posted Aug 9, 2007 4:48 pm PT
lin--i have the OMWF cd in the car. just sang along on the way back from safeway you mean you miss buffy and angel cause they aren't on tv anymore, or cause i don't write about them anymore? i highly recommed you start watching supernatural though....i think you'd like it
Posted Aug 9, 2007 4:50 pm PT
Oh definetly.....he's better than chocolate cookies....I wouldn't mind him with the cookies though *adds some chocolate syrup to the mix*
Posted Aug 9, 2007 5:07 pm PT
christy--haha, good thought. we could use some whipped cream too on top!
Posted Aug 9, 2007 5:08 pm PT
Posted Aug 9, 2007 5:16 pm PT
lin--bailey's will do that to you. i'm a big fan of the original and the mint but buffy is so singalong-able can't wait till our next singalong in 2 weeks and the on sept 6 2 tv.com friends will be visiting me to go to another one....

*luv tackles Em* then *eats a cookie* then *gazes at Alba*

All delicious treats

I actually really liked Dark Angel, though that may have had something to do with Alba

I still watch smallville though quickly tire of its crappy storylines...le sigh.

Nip/tuck is so damn good. i dunno if you have or not, but if you like that then check out Dexter!
Posted Aug 9, 2007 5:30 pm PT
Except for the Buffy/Angel mention, your blog is a list of shows I don't watch.

I need more hours in the day.
Posted Aug 9, 2007 5:34 pm PT
lin--no i haven't done the costume thing yet, and no one else has. the firefly people tend to dress up when they show those eps. though this time, there will be 3 or 4 of us going together, so we really should come up with something...any ideas for us?
Posted Aug 9, 2007 5:42 pm PT
mark--you can touch jessica too, don't just look! i have certainly read some reviews that said DA was a great show for looking at its cast, but the storylines weren't as attractive ...i'm not going to let smallville disappoint me, i have a very low expectation and am looking at it as light entertainment and nothing more... i have seen Dexter, did a blog about it earlier in the summer. i haven't seen s2 yet, but it's on my list of stuff to watch....great show!
Posted Aug 9, 2007 5:46 pm PT
auntie--well, i'm not really recommending any of them, except nip/tuck which just keeps you guessing abuot what crazy thing is going to happen next. i think you would enjoy GG too, because of the banter and the pop culture references and the excellent use of sarcasm. but i don't think you need to sit down and watch seasons in order or anything, you can get a lot of enjoyment out of random episodes.
Posted Aug 9, 2007 5:49 pm PT
OMWF=OMFG.

I've been hooked on N/T since the pilot episode. I wouldn't mind any suggestion made in S5 that S4 was a dream sequence.

A wacky, kooky dream sequence.

* scene opens with Christian and Sean having a threeway with Suzanne Pleschette *

That'll do.
Posted Aug 9, 2007 7:40 pm PT
I hope you do start a Buffy/Sngel rewatch, love those two series. and hmmm, why is that both Dark Angel and Smallville have Jensen in them? I doubt its a coincidence yur watching those shows

*wishes i was Jessica Alba's balnket*
Laterz Em
Posted Aug 9, 2007 9:29 pm PT
tj--well i have only seen a few eps of S4 of N/T but it sounds pretty bad if you are using the dream (or shower) analogy here....btw, i am back to loving the closer this season after all, even if the first ep was a bit shaky.

Wow, lots of quality TV watching!! I have seen (or am about to see all of those!) I actually just finished catching up on Weeds for the premiere on Monday, which I didn't expect to like as much as I did, (a recommendation from the sisters BF could go either way, sometimes I love 'em and sometimes I hate 'em) but I am hooked!!
Posted Aug 10, 2007 1:16 am PT
Yay for your arm!
Posted Aug 10, 2007 1:33 am PT
Hope the injection helped your arm!

Anywho, Smallville is pretty good, at times it can really SUCK but it's fun to watch...
Posted Aug 10, 2007 5:26 am PT
batzy--we are going to do some sort of buffy/angel re-watch. probably going to pick 6 eps/season or something like that since there are so many eps. kimmy and i will co-host and we'll put the details up on our blogs once we figure them out... you're gonna have to share jessica with movie mark
Posted Aug 10, 2007 8:35 am PT
tj--i am not looking at that
Posted Aug 10, 2007 8:36 am PT
OhB--hey haven't seen you for ages! haven't watched weeds, but it's never too late once i finish all the things i'm trying to finish now.

lin--yeah, i thought about the fangs already. at least it's easy and doesn't require a big investment or major embarassment i'll have to see what kimmy and engel think up too.
