I want to thank everyone for your wonderful comments and PMs regarding my not being on tv.com for the past few days. It's been hard to be away and I've missed you and feel like a lot has happened while I was away. It was mostly involuntary. I could tell you that David Boreanaz called me up with the news he's divorcing his wife and we flew off to spend the weekend in Venice. And he did amazing things to me while we were floating around in a gondola. Yeah, that's what I'll tell you. It was fantastic. I didn't want to come back.

***SPOILER***

Still there? If you aren't sleeping, work has also been really hectic. Two people are on vacation in my group and my direct boss is helping me with some of their work. Only he is also doing my work that he isn't supposed to be helping me with, so some things are getting done twice and wasting my time and annoying me rather a lot. He thinks he is helping so it's really hard to explain things to him to prevent this. I have been so swamped, for example on Monday I had to get to work early and figured I'd eat breakfast at my desk. I ended up eating my breakfast at 1.30 PM! So I ate my lunch for dinner when I finally got home! Today was nearly as busy, but I made time for lunch and then when my boss was driving me crazy I went outside for a 15-minute walk in the afternoon so I wouldn't end up in jail for assault.

But there is good news at work. Finally, tomorrow, the person will start who will be taking over a big part of my current work. That's the part that is fairly boring and has been the cause of my arm and hand pain. And my VP-level boss has me working on some special projects, which are more interesting. I've had a temp helping me the past couple of weeks on those projects and the VP thinks I'm doing a great job on them, so that's good. We'll see what really interesting projects I can come up with to suggest to him.

One positive externality to the computer issues, was that while I was defragmenting the hard drive and reinstalling stuff, I had time to watch DVDs. I ended up watching half of S2 of Nip/Tuck and 17 episodes of S2 of Gilmore Girls. I didn't think I could really watch more than 3 episodes of GG at once, but I actually watched like 10 in a row on Saturday, and survived and wanted to watch more! I really like the show, and think the mother-daughter relationship is wonderful. I was raised by a single mom, and we really were best friends like Lorelai and Rory, until she remarried when I was 11. That totally changed our family dynamic and it's never been the same since. When I was a kid I never got yelled at, and my mom always asked me for my input on everything and we were more like sisters than mother-daughter. I was actually glad Lorelai didn't marry Max, because I knew exactly how he would change that relationship, even if he did bring other good elements to their lives.

I'll discuss Nip/Tuck another time....if anyone comes back to read my blog again after this.

OK, here's a little reward to tide you over until next time.

Don;t you hate people that take over what your doing kinda and think they are helping when really they are not!! I have a girl at work that does that to me all the time. Glad they are finally getting that person in there to help, so you can move on to other things.

You have my sympathies on the computer. I've had a few run in with mine, usually due to others carelessness.

A few weeks ago I repaired, hopefully for the last time, a family member's Apple IIe. Yes, that's right. He wanted the nuked drive replaced with an identical drive. I informed him 30 Meg hard drives belong in museums and if I found one on eBay he'd not want a drive so used it would fail ASAP.

Now there's an Apple IIe in Boston jury rigged with a 10 Gig drive. I will not bore you with the printer issues.

He also asked me to set it up with eMail after programing his spreadsheets for him (he's an accountant). Ugh ...

Congrats on your computer success,

jim

kimmy--i was stalking your blog for a while, then I got tired of waiting, and i watched the last 2 eps of GG S2. OMG Rory kissing Jess! Poor Dean! And Christopher! I'm so mad at him! I think I have to watch S3 right away and see what happens!
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:14 pm PT

Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:16 pm PT
OhB--yes a whole weekend without the computer was hell, thank goodness for DVDs. GG was fun. I admit I based my decision on that show partially on wanting to see Jared in something before Supernatural
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:17 pm PT

Gotta help get your numbers up!! Your only to 20:Shock:
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:20 pm PT
jim--OMG an Apple IIe, that's like 20 years or so, right? That's before they had Macs! Wow. An old BF of mine used to have several really old computers that he kept from work when they upgraded, some really really old Sun & HP workstations and we used to turn them all on when it got really cold in our apartment in Tokyo because they generated so much heat
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:21 pm PT
kimmy--yeah, i got your real number, just joking. didn't have a chance to comment on tonight's blog, but at least you know I was there
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:22 pm PT
But the Ninja is the master f all martial arts I cant possibly defeat them..... not without some training first.

*Rocky theme plays in the background

Gotta go! Montage time!
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:23 pm PT
kimmy--the shower was awesome

GGS2--I liked Christopher but hated Sherry even befor the last ep. she was like psycho GF and too nice and friendly it was scary. I downloaded some of S3 so I can start watching! I have to also watch S6 of Buffy by Thursday. They are having another singalong with 2 Spuffy eps and there is a Spuffy trivia quiz and I want to get a good score. I got 2nd place last time when they had a Sunnydale trivia quiz at the "Prom" theme. This time the theme "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" LMAO
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:25 pm PT
Awwww No comment for me??
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:25 pm PT
mac--you can do it; you're Rocky and Rocky II and half of the one with Mister T. If you get that quote I love you!

*Eats the banana split and half a litre of chocolate syrup
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:33 pm PT
kimmy--we can have a singalong when we get together for our dirrty girls weekend/bachelorette party in Reno!
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:35 pm PT
mac--don't eat all the chocolate sauce, i need some for DB for later

kimmy--you recognize the Rocky quote, right?
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:36 pm PT
Yup, who doesn't know Rocky!!

We so need to find a time to plan the trip, I am soo for it!! Still moving in with you though!!
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:37 pm PT
I was only gonna have HALF a litre Gotta watch my figure ya know
Plenty left for your DB
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:40 pm PT
kimmy & mac--the quote is something Lorne says to Angel, I cna't remember the episode, but it's such a typical Lorne quote....i'm so disappointed in both of you
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:40 pm PT
mac--i don't think a half liter of choc sauce is gonna do your anti-ninja training any good. you need to abstain from that sort of thing for a while if you are going to study martial arts....
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:42 pm PT
Hahaha My bad!! Did I mention I have had maybe 9 hours sleep for the last 3 nights combined!!
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:44 pm PT
which reminds me of something i used to say as a kid. i remember driving w/my mom and we passed a martial arts place. only i was reading it really fast and mis-understood the sign. I asked my mom "what are marital arts?" and i think she nearly spit or peed her pants or something out of shock, cause it sounded really dirty i guess (knowing better now!) but it's kind of a joke about marital arts in my family
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:44 pm PT
what have you been doing all night? or is it just too hot there still? it's cooled down a lot here, not sunny, just foggy and cloudy, which is good. too many fires recently, we need rain!
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:45 pm PT
Haha I haven't seen any Angel.

*Ducks and rolls out of throwing range.
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:47 pm PT
Yah the heat has been bad, and having to get up early for work is not helping!! My three days off were I could of gotten more sleep, are the only days it is getting to 100!! I'm like WTF!! I am so never gonna get any sleep!!
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:49 pm PT
mac--i've seen ALL of Angel, and it's worth seeing the show is good too have you seen Buffy? Angel is much better if you've watched Buffy first so you get the background for the characters....
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:52 pm PT
kimmy--too bad about the heat. thank goodness it's cooled off here since i have no a/c and no pool. i guess i could have really spent 4 days in the shower if was still as hot as last week
Posted Jul 10, 2007 10:54 pm PT
Yah I think I would of seriously died without the Pool!! I love summertime, its my fave time of year, but I so go without alot of sleep this time of year!!
Posted Jul 10, 2007 11:02 pm PT
I used to watch Buffy waaaaaaaay back in the day. Thinking of trying to watch it again...
Posted Jul 10, 2007 11:05 pm PT

Posted Jul 10, 2007 11:08 pm PT
