I want to thank everyone for your wonderful comments and PMs regarding my not being on tv.com for the past few days. It's been hard to be away and I've missed you and feel like a lot has happened while I was away. It was mostly involuntary. I could tell you that David Boreanaz called me up with the news he's divorcing his wife and we flew off to spend the weekend in Venice. And he did amazing things to me while we were floating around in a gondola. Yeah, that's what I'll tell you. It was fantastic. I didn't want to come back.
***SPOILER***
Still there? If you aren't sleeping, work has also been really hectic. Two people are on vacation in my group and my direct boss is helping me with some of their work. Only he is also doing my work that he isn't supposed to be helping me with, so some things are getting done twice and wasting my time and annoying me rather a lot. He thinks he is helping so it's really hard to explain things to him to prevent this. I have been so swamped, for example on Monday I had to get to work early and figured I'd eat breakfast at my desk. I ended up eating my breakfast at 1.30 PM! So I ate my lunch for dinner when I finally got home! Today was nearly as busy, but I made time for lunch and then when my boss was driving me crazy I went outside for a 15-minute walk in the afternoon so I wouldn't end up in jail for assault.
But there is good news at work. Finally, tomorrow, the person will start who will be taking over a big part of my current work. That's the part that is fairly boring and has been the cause of my arm and hand pain. And my VP-level boss has me working on some special projects, which are more interesting. I've had a temp helping me the past couple of weeks on those projects and the VP thinks I'm doing a great job on them, so that's good. We'll see what really interesting projects I can come up with to suggest to him.
One positive externality to the computer issues, was that while I was defragmenting the hard drive and reinstalling stuff, I had time to watch DVDs. I ended up watching half of S2 of Nip/Tuck and 17 episodes of S2 of Gilmore Girls. I didn't think I could really watch more than 3 episodes of GG at once, but I actually watched like 10 in a row on Saturday, and survived and wanted to watch more! I really like the show, and think the mother-daughter relationship is wonderful. I was raised by a single mom, and we really were best friends like Lorelai and Rory, until she remarried when I was 11. That totally changed our family dynamic and it's never been the same since. When I was a kid I never got yelled at, and my mom always asked me for my input on everything and we were more like sisters than mother-daughter. I was actually glad Lorelai didn't marry Max, because I knew exactly how he would change that relationship, even if he did bring other good elements to their lives.
I'll discuss Nip/Tuck another time....if anyone comes back to read my blog again after this.
OK, here's a little reward to tide you over until next time.

YAY! GG!! I have always loved GG!! Never watched nip/tuck, you'll have to let me know how it is, so I might check it out.
I soooooo Missed you!!!
A few weeks ago I repaired, hopefully for the last time, a family member's Apple IIe. Yes, that's right. He wanted the nuked drive replaced with an identical drive. I informed him 30 Meg hard drives belong in museums and if I found one on eBay he'd not want a drive so used it would fail ASAP.
Now there's an Apple IIe in Boston jury rigged with a 10 Gig drive. I will not bore you with the printer issues.
He also asked me to set it up with eMail after programing his spreadsheets for him (he's an accountant). Ugh ...
Congrats on your computer success,
jim
Oh yah, I was wondering how you were in the shower for 4 days!!
*Rocky theme plays in the background
Gotta go! Montage time!
GGS2--I liked Christopher but hated Sherry even befor the last ep. she was like psycho GF and too nice and friendly it was scary. I downloaded some of S3 so I can start watching! I have to also watch S6 of Buffy by Thursday. They are having another singalong with 2 Spuffy eps and there is a Spuffy trivia quiz and I want to get a good score. I got 2nd place last time when they had a Sunnydale trivia quiz at the "Prom" theme. This time the theme "Is She Really Going Out With Him?" LMAO
I so wish we had buffy sing alongs!!!
*Eats the banana split and half a litre of chocolate syrup
