Hey guys, I haven't been on here alot lately but here's what's been up.
I'm officially completely set for college. I'll be living in the Memphis dorms starting this fall, living both the college and military life, and having fun in the home of rock & roll. I'm pretty exited ![]()
So Saturday night I went to Beale Street Music Festival. Origonally I wasn't going to get to go since I didn't have any money, but then I got a check in the mail for 50 bucks Saturday morning (from some friends for graduation), and I hitched a ride with some friends. Oddly enough, my friend Zach works for Q107.5 (a top 40 station) so we got to park at one of the DJs condos and walked down the river from there. There were 200,000 people----> it was crazy. When we got there Simple Plan had just started, so we watched them and they were pretty good. Then we met up with another friend and fought our way to about 20 feet from the stage when Seether came out. THAT WAS AN AMAZING SHOW. If you've never seen Seether live you need to. They were awesome.
What was more awesome was just being in the mosh pit. We happened to be right beside some really hot girls (both in spandex
) and when one asked to get on my friends shoulders, since he's really tall, naturally I offered to put the other one up. So like, I had this friekin fine girl up on my shoulders and my hands on her legs... yeah it was nice. It felt pretty weird on the back of my neck though since they were wearing volleyball shorts
Thankfully she didn't lift up her bra though like most of them were doing. I was kind of surprised because this one girl was on a dudes shoulders and took it all off, and they put the spotlight on her
Made me kind of glad I wasn't with a female friend because then we couldn't have enjoyed it
Oh yeah, I got to crowd surf twice. That was sooo much fun; first time I've ever done it. Basically it was the only way to get out because the crowd at that stage was so incredibly tight. When someone needed out, they'd get thrown up, taken to the front of the stage and dropped in the trench and caught by security, and then led back around. So they threw me up and I was effortlessly transported about 50 feet. Uh and then Disturbed played. I cannot even describe how epic that show was. Disturbed was amazing in my book before hand, but now they are the most hardcore band ever.
After that I got a call from one of the friends I was originally with and apparently he was at some condo with a bunch of rich chicks. So I headed over there and caught a little bit of Santana on my way out, but Disturbed and Santana were the last acts on the two biggest stages so it was pretty much over for the night. I went to the condo and we chilled for a bit. Then we decided to watch a movie, with everyone on the same bed, which was nice. Except the movie really sucked. Nobody had seen "One Missed Call" we decided to buy it for the night. It was pure corn, to be honest. Not that I was paying attention to the movie anyway...
Then my mom calls and was like "hey are you coming home tonight? it's 3:30" and I just told her we'd be heading back in a bit. So when we get back to my friend's Jeep he's got a friekin flat tire, and it took forever to change it because the bar for taking the lugnuts off was bending. but we finally got it changed and the spare tire was horrible. It felt like we were driving on ice the whole way home, so we went like 50 mph. After dropping the other guy off, I finally got home at 5 AM.
So basically that was Sat. night. The rest of the week was pretty good but this was the highlight by far. I can't wait for Music Fest next year...
