Adventure Games are my favorite type of games!!
This is a list of the best adventures ever made:
The longest journey 1 & 2 (Dreamfall)
Syberia 1 & 2
Black Mirror (can't wait for part 2)
The Secret Files: Tunguska (also waiting for part 2)
Ankh 1 & 2 (Heart of Osiris)
Runaway: A Road Adventure
Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle
N.I.B.I.R.U: Age of Secrets
Day of the Tentacle
All of the Monkey Island games
All of the Nancy Drew games
Sanitarium
Loom
The Settlers 4 & 5
And so on and so on

Right.. so I've finished Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Again not my favorite adventure.
I find the older adventures more exciting... Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle and Loom for instance.
Why are there so few really great adventures...?
Only a handful were truly great (Syberia rocked)
Hopefully the new releases will have improved somewhat.
Still need to play The Longest Journey though... I'll start playing as soon as I finish Black Mirror.

FINALLY Another great one!! 
The Longest Journey is definately in my top 5!
Also.. I see that 2006 is the year for many new adventure games...
This year's gonna be good!
Especially looking forward to Lost Paradise and Dreamfall !

So, is this "favourites" list still up to date?
I still feel the need, or rather "want" to play some good adventures as you know.
Hopefully my schedule will be a little less crowded with things I need to do, but keep putting off anyway because there are more important things, which I also tend to put off longer than I should. :S
I'll probably start with The Longest Journey, it seems like the best choice.
Maybe Syberia after that.

Yes this list is still up to date!
The Longest Journey IS the best choice to start with! It's my favourite! Also Syberia 1 & 2 are beautiful games! I haven't played Dreamfall: The Longest Journey, because it doesn't work on my damned old laptop... Also the 2 Runaway games are a lot of fun to play.. and I also enjoyed The Secret Files Tunguska. Start with those.. IF you ever get the time.. (I highly doubt it

Not particularly useful to talk about my lack of time to: watch series, films, play those adventures, both start and finish already started Windows and Xbox 360 video games that aren't adventures, work, sleep, and all that yet again, so I'll leave it at that.
I really do plan on doing some adventuring sometime, and like we just agreed, I should start with TLJ.

I found it a bit dull and not very player-friendly.
I have just finished playing Nibiru and I just started playing Journey to the center of the Earth. These 2 games are a lot more interesting and I enjoy them a lot.
Lucky for me I just saw on an adventure gamers site that many adventures are coming out in 2006. Can't wait!
