nightatmuseum

I have just watched "Night at the Museum: Battle of Smithsonian" and it was truly amazing. The sequel of "Night at the Museum" was even better than it because we already knew all about the museum coming to life at night so there was more action and less talk, if you get what I mean.

This movie does not happen on the same museum as the previous one but at the Smithsonian Institute, which is a complex of nineteen museums. In this movie most of the statues that were in the New York Museum are taken to be stored at the Smithsonian because the museum was being modernized. The problem is when the Egyptian stone is also takes there which means that the biggest museum in the world would become alive at night and as if it wasn't enough Kahmunrah (Hank Azaria), an evil Pharaoh, decides to use the stone to bring his army back to life and take over the world.

Kahmunrah makes all the old museum people hostage and they call for Larry's (Ben Stiller) help. In the movie we come across Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams), Al Capone (Jon Bernthal), Napoleon Bonapart (Alain Chabat), Abraham Lincoln (Hank Azaria), etc. Together, Larry and Amelia try to put everything back to its right place given us a lot of fun. In the end everything is right again and Larry learns the secret of happiness.

In overall the movie is very funny, which is no surprise when we are talking about a movie with Ben Stiller. The special effects were all amazing too and the music, composed by Alan Silvestri, is just perfect for the movie. "Night at the Museum: Battle of Smithsonian" was written by Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, and directed by Shawn Levy.

I hadn't heard about Night at the Museum but this sequel sounds like a really entertaining movie. I love museums and History and seeing historical figures really distant apart in time interact must be pretty funny. Good to hear that you enjoyed it. Hugs

The movie is showing at the IMAX theaters in both the American History Museum and the Natural History Museum, both part of the Smithsonian Institution. I've been thinking about seeing the movie there. It would be a pretty neat experience to see this movie in an actual Smithsonian museum. Fortunately, it's not that far for me. I work just a few blocks away from the Smithsonian and I run past many of the museums during my weekly run workouts.

yeah I know about the IMAX version but I live in Brazil and we have just one place with IMAX here and it's not in my city or not even close enough to be worthy going there.... it's a shame I know....

I don't really want to see it. The first one kinda got boring after a while.

Have you seen a lot of Thomas Lennon's work like The State or Reno 911?
