I was watching a rerun of The Colbert Report today, and he was talking about crumbelievable pop culture. Granted, subcultures have always existed. (The people who saw the Hercules movies in the 60s would be watching LOGO or Bravo today.) But what are the odds of me watching most of these 200+ channels (not including satellite radio, local, and free channels)? Although they're all owned by five companies, so . . .

I actually came up with descriptions of the channels:
FX Network -- the men's channel with lots of reruns.
Spike TV -- the men's channel with lots of reruns.
TNT -- you know, for a gender with greater prevalence of ADD, we really like our reruns
CBS -- the one channel for people over 30; to be exact, people over 60
CW -- the merging of the WB and UPN, basically like if the head cheerleader was impregnated by the guy everybody had a pool on when he would bring a gun to school
Fox -- the network which shows filth
Fox News -- the network which protests filth
MTV -- the station for tween music
MTV 2 -- the station for tween music not good enough for MTV
VH-1 -- people who used to be on MTV
Fuse -- people who would be on MTV if it didn't ruin their street cred
History Channel -- Hitler Channel 1
A&E -- Hitler Channel 2
Bravo -- the gay network
LOGO -- the gay teen network
IFC -- the gay teen hooker who self-medicates his mental disorders with heroin since he can't afford lithium network
the-n -- the Degrassi channel
Comedy Central -- the South Park channel
Cartoon Network -- the pothead channel
Lifetime -- the "Are you cheating?" channel
ABC Family -- the channel for missionary work (and by 'missionary work' I mean African diamond mines)
Discovery -- the educational channel where you can learn about perpetual motion and Atlantis
ESPN -- sports, if 'sports' include curling
ESPN 2 -- sports, if 'sports' include ballroom dancing
FX Network -- the men's channel with lots of reruns.

Actually, if you've seen many independent films, you'd agree with that assessment. (In fact, except for bipolar, Kevin Zegers' character in Transamerica has every one of those things.)

No ITA with you. I watch a lot of indie films a lot of characters are in them with those qualities.

I've seen Steven Colbert a couple times, he's kind've boring, but my Mom loves him, so I guess he's right most of the time.

Well, the idea is that he's a parody of Bill o rly.
