... But these are the nicest throwbacks in football.
Call me a homer, but Jerry Glanville agrees with me.

But this he'met needs to be brought back to top off those beautiful gold pants and dark burgundy jersey...
Perfect.

And to pay a little homage those with other loyalties...

Love the orange. And it's blue! Not black!

Behold the second best throwback! Powder blues, baby! And I love me some numbers on those white he'mets.

And, finally, the ones that should stay buried...

Do you chowdah heads really want to relive the Steve Grogan days? I hear these are coming back. Rather ill advised, if you ask me.

The infamous "Creamsicle" uni.

That rather festive chappy on the helmet was actually named "Bruce". "Bruce the Buccaneer", that is.
Egads.

Edit: Back in the day, they said Doug Williams was the only guy who could over-throw the Ayatollah.
I personally love the guy.
Thanks for the memories, Doug.
You looked better in burgundy.

Just replace that dagger with a rose and you're screwed.
Glad that beautiful Burgundy & Gold could cut through the funk.
Scianix-Black: More swishbuckler than swashbuckler in ol' Brucie if ya ask me... Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I actually like the orange Bears jersy...but for some reason it's largely loathed in Chicago. And yes, it's navy.
And I hated the Redskin's uniform under Spurrier. So ugly. Too burgandy.
It was odd, but as a Charger fan, I found it almost a let-down when they switched their normal uniform back to powder blue with white helmets. Kinda took the "special" away from those uni's.
While we're on the topic of throwbacks and helmets, here's the killer page for it all:
