Please tell me this is just an early April Fools joke! There's no way that thing can possibly work.

Basically, it's saying you have a controller and a screen, but all the computing is done at their central location, then the video is streamed back to your tv. Come on, I don't even like using a wireless controller because of the latency, and that's only 10-20 feet, this is talking about hundreds of miles there and back! With the distance to travel, data relays, dropped packets, the time for their computer to process, render, and return video, then for the stream to get all the way back to your tv, that would be a catastrophe for action packed games.

So, come on, this is a joke, right?

I have my doubts on it too... But who knows, it actually might work.

not to mention every new company in the past 15 years that has come out with a gaming platform has failed! remember gizmondo? probably not! listen, microsoft succeeded because it was big in computing, sony succeeded because it was big in consumer electronics, nintendo succeeded because it was a very small market when they got into it and there was little competition, and sega succeeded for a few systems because the market was still just torn between nintendo and atari back in 89, and it didn't take much (more than a blast processor!).

THIS THING WILL FAIL.

Yes, at first I believed it... then I read an article and it hit me just how ridiculous the claim is, plus the fact at GDC they are using a 360 controller to play/showcase the games, it HAS to be an April fools joke.

i think the idea is that it will run any game at the same speed, since their central server computers are dramatically more powerful than what's necessary to run the game at full frames, but every game does not require the same latency, or lack there of.
