I had this review almost finished and the power went out, so you know what, you are now getting the quick version of this. This is the Sonic Unleahsed PS3 review, since so many people feel differently about it this is a choose your own adventure style review. Just go to the section you feel fits for you, use the find fuction to get there faster.

Sonic Unleahsed PS3

If you have never liked Sonic before go to Section A.

If you have never liked a 3D Sonic game before go to Section A.

Section A

Sonic sucks. Sonic should die already cause every Sonic game is trash.

Section B

You like frolicking on the beach and performing homoerotic slow motion hugs.

Section C

Unleashed has some of the best 3D Sonic levels ever put in a game. But it also does things which can rub certain people the wrong way.

If you dont like cheap deaths that will require you to do some trial and error to get by go to Section D

The werehog sections are not that bad at all. It is a buttonmasher but there are some decent platforming sections. I dont think it hurt the game, I thought it was a nice change of pace from Sonic. But the game is split 50/50 between the two in the HD version (far better ratio than Wii version). If that will bother you go to section D.

Then there is the hub world where you will walk around a small area and talk to NPCs. Its not going to be like Oblivion or something normally they say nothing of importance. Now its not like you have to talk to everyone to advance the game, just a few people. If this is something that will bother you a lot then go to section D.

If you hate QTE segments, go to Section D, this game is filled with them, its ridiculous.

If you have a normal tolerance for games think you can get buy those potential issue then move onto Section E

Section D

This game will drive you insane with its boring werehog sections, instat death filled sonic levels and constant assult of QTEs. You will go crazy and shave the middle portion of your head for some strange reason.

Section E

Yay you are still around. Yeah the game is not perfect but its such a great step forward. I think this new engine is the way 3D Sonic should go. The levels in this game are brilliant, especially the 2D sections and the full 2D levels. I loved all the Sonic levels, yeah some drove me crazy but beating them, mastering them was such a thrill.

This is a 3D Sonic game so just running through the game does not give you the full experience, if that is all you plan to do go to Section F

But if you are like me and will put in the time to completely master this gigantic game go to Section G

Section F

You will play through the game and enjoy it but it wont leave much of a lasting impression to you. It was a decent Sonic game.

Section G

You will play this game till you master it. You will find every mission, find all the hidden medals and master the levels. Thats where the beauty lies, when you can finish these large levels without dying, finding the best paths and executing to perfection. Few games offer that type of rush.

The game is huge, with almost 100 missions, most of them Sonic. Even the extra werehog missions are good as they usually focus on a sort of puzzle. There are some brilliant all 2D levels for Sonic. The boss fights are very well done. Its a really damn good Sonic game.

The only thing really holding it back for me is well the PS3 version has framerate issues. As the game gets harder the framerate gets worse, in a game this fast it hurts when things slow down. I didn't like the hot dog challenges, I like how they did it in SA2 where it focuses on ranks rather than these simple goals repeated over and over again. QTE needs to stop, its ok at first but it gets comical by the end. And werehog didn't bother me that much, of course all Sonic would be best but it was fine.

I am excited for the future of Sonic, this new team shook things up and delivered a top quality Sonic experience. Its still a 3D Sonic at heart and for some reason many people hate that but I dont. So for me this was a great experience.
