Roundabout I hate sitting at traffic lights when no one else is even around. Sitting, waiting for that damn light to turn green. Specially frustrating at stops with 5,6,7 roads merging from obtuse angles, as happens in city's like San Francisco.
Back in 97 I lived in England -- straight outta college -- and worked as a Pizza Hut Delivery driver for some time. I mastered the Round A Bout! And let me tell you if I can master that S.O.B while driving on the wrong side of the road, then people here can get the hang of it driving on the right side of the road.

Berkeley is starting to put them in everywhere, but they're ruining them with stopsigns instead of yield signs. So now you have to come to a complete stop before proceeding into the circle. It's like having to go down a flight of stairs before you get on the elevator to go up. Sort of. Also, for a city so full of environmentally conscious people, you'd think they would try to maximize the efficency of their intersections by reducing the amount of stop-and-go traffic. That's all thanks bye for now...

Stop signs on a roundabout are insane! Defeats the point.

We have one of those in Hartford and I hate it! Pretty freakin' dangerous during rush hour, with highway exits entering it as well. It works ok in another small town here.
Fortunately, when I lived in S.F., I took public transportation and only had to deal with being smushed during rush hour, or one Kamikazee bus driver zooming down a hill while uttering, Yee-haaa!!!

Roundabouts are great, we have them everywhere here in England, you can barely go down any street without coming across either a roundabout or these new mini-roundabouts which are being installed everywhere, the problem with them is that everyone just drives straight over them
