Unfortunately, this year I am cancelling my birthday party on here. Instead, it will be a memorial for all of those injured at the Big Valley Jamboree, which is the largest country music fest in Canada and it is held about 40 min from my home town.

On Saturday night around 6 o'clock Billy Currington was finishing up his set on the concert bowl stage when a massive storm hit. Nobody was prepared. Winds gusting up to 100 km/hr knocked down the stage, injuring 75 (2 in critical care) and unfortunately the death of a single mother of two boys. Billy Currington was struck with a pipe, he is doing fine, he only sustained a minor concussion and a black eye.

What a horrible turn of events. I hope everyone recovers from their injuries, and Donna's family and friends somehow make it through the grief over their loss.

I read at about this incredible concert going entirely all wrong (CMT.com newsletter). So very tragic. My heart goes out to the children and other family members/friends of the young woman who was fatally injured. How kind of you to give up your birthday party in tribute.

P.S. Happy Birthday on a day of your choosing!
