Hugh Laurie has done extremely well on every project he participated in, yet House is the best character he has ever played, and most definitely – he is the best actor for the role. His ability to portray the good and bad sides of House is amazing. He immerses himself in the character on all levels.
Some of his best moments don't need a written dialogue at all – he is able to deliver the most sensitive and complex moments with nothing but a hand gesture or an eyebrow movement, yet he's the type of actor every writer dreams of, as he can transform even the most banal dialogue into an unforgettable one, one that people would keep on quoting for days. One of the greatest performances on TV ever.
