Chapter 3 of 6

Dustin got up and took a shower and put on some training clothes. He opened the door and his principal was sitting in a chair.

"Ah Dustin, I'm glad to see you are awake, I have some bad news for you unfortunately, a psychiatrist came in today and he wants to see how you've progressed so far. After hearing that other report the other psychiatrist wrote he's curious to see how you have changed."

"I see, and how long will this take?" Dustin asked annoyed.

"As long as it takes," The principal replied aggressively. "Why? You have somewhere to be?"

"No, not really." Dustin told the principal. Dustin followed the principal to a room. Dustin sat in a chair and a man walked in, as the principal left.

"Dustin, I'm Thompson I will be your psychiatrist, I'm a renown expert for the company I work for."

"Don't hold your breath, the last doctor who was here called me a demon child. And he was called an expert"

"Ah, of course, Mr. Appleton I assure you would not have been hired by the company I work for." Thompson replied emphasizing on the word company.

"Company? What company?" Dustin asked starting to get suspicious.

"That's not why I'm here. Dustin I'm here to ask you questions about these last few weeks," Thompson said as he finally sat down right across from Dustin.

"Well fine, go ahead and ask your questions." Dustin asked rather rudely.

"Ouch, you seem to have a certain dislike for psychiatrists."

"If my 'parents' didn't send me here, I certainly wouldn't need one."

"Right, now first I want to ask you about how you feel about Ricky's recent demise."

"Demise? Oh right, I uh, felt sorry for him, but Billy was a bad person, bullying people, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner."

"Now I've read that before the incident when you first got here, you were quiet. Then you were blamed for fires, and you were bullied and then you became distant, uncaring, and robotic. What made you change your behavior from this robotic behavior to the behavior you exhibit now?" Thompson asked writing something down. Dustin started to breathe heavy.

"I guess it was Ricky's attack that opened me." Dustin replied, Thompson stopped writing and looked up.

"Your principal told me, he saw you down there and saw Billy and his group coming up and called the campus police. When the campus police showed up right after Billy hit Ricky, you weren't there. Where'd you go?" After Thompson asked that, Dustin's chest started to tighten.

"I guess that I must've left before Billy started to attack Ricky." Dustin replied.

"No, see Dustin here's what I think. Ricky was never Billy's intended victim, you were. Ricky was holding you, while Billy struck you. You cracked and insulted Billy, to a point where he was going to kill you, but for some odd reason, you just disappeared."

"What? That doesn't make anysense." Dustin replied with a shaky voice.

"No, it does, because you were also attacked by a couple of thugs on Wednesday night." Dustin's became more nervous. "See Mark, the one who came after you with a knife, said you magically disappeared and reappeared on the other side of the alley. Mark also said when the police showed up you disappeared; all that was left was a knife with your blood on it."

"Who are you?" Dustin asked short of breath. Thompson pulled out a small kit, and took out a syringe.

"Like I said, my name's Thompson and I am an expert for the company I work for." Thompson got up and walked towards Dustin. "Now I know you don't have control over your power, so I figured, I wouldn't need to call a Haitian friend of mine." Thompson slowly brought the needle to Dustin's neck.

Dustin found himself in a hallway. He heard a loud door slamming.

"Thompson what is it?" Dustin's principal asked.

"Find Dustin, and find him NOW!" Thompson yelled. Dustin ran outside and looked for the trap door; he fell down it. He got up and saw a pile of clothes on the floor. He walked closer and soon discovered it wasn't a pile of clothes but the man he saw Thursday, lying dead. Dustin fell on his knees and tears streamed down his face.

"Why? You were supposed to help me." Dustin said crying.

"The man got in the way, wouldn't tell us what power you had." Thompson said behind Dustin. "Well at first anyway. Odd we wouldn't have found him had he not closed the trap door." Dustin turned around and faced Thompson with an angry look on his face.

"What do you want from me?" Dustin yelled at Thompson who smiled.

"You know it was a bad judgment call, the Haitian I could've brought with me, would've prevented you from using your powers. Oh well, we need to learn from our mistakes don't we?"

"I suppose we do," Dustin said with a disgusted look on his face.

"I think I've found a weakness in your power, apparently you can only go short distances, so even if you manage to escape, you won't get far, and the Haitian is coming here as we speak."

"Actually that was only part of my ability." Dustin replied starting to smile.

"What do you mean?" Thompson asked confused.

"He believed I was capable of all forms of physical teleportation," Dustin replied pointing to the dead man behind him.

"He never told us; well it doesn't matter, even if what you say is true, I highly doubt you're skilled enough." Thompson responded.

"All I need is one time, all I need to do is teleport far enough that no one will be able to find me." Dustin said. Thompson chuckled and charged at him. Dustin blinked across the room. Thompson then ran towards him. Dustin blinked outside, guns were pointing at him. Dustin smiled and closed his eyes.

"Don't let him escape, fire the tranquilizers!" Thompson yelled through the trap door. Dustin thought of a nice jungle so thick he couldn't be captured.

Thompson crawled out of the trap door and looked around.

"Well where is he?" Thompson asked as he didn't see Dustin anywhere.

"Sir, he orbed," one of the guards replied.

"Orbed what do you mean he orbed?" Thompson asked his guard.

"Like off the show Charmed, how white-lighters and Elders get around." The guard responded. Thompson walked off with a bad look on his face.

Dustin opened his eyes and found himself in a hot jungle. Dustin smiled, and started to laugh. Without warning a spear struck to a tree, near his head.

"Oh crap!" Dustin said in shock.

Just out of curiosity, is this the book you were talking about before or is this something different you came up with for the heroes thing?

It's the heores thing, I kinda of got writers block for my book, so I need to write something, and HAT was there, so it's good experience for me and for my fellow fans and HAT members.
