Story belowfrom Kotaku

Do violent video games need health warning labels? California congressman Joe Baca thinks so, and he's introduced legislation that would make them mandatory. Citing research studies that show a link between violent video games and child aggression, Baca believes that the Consumer Product Safety Commission needs to institute a rule that all games rated T or higher be labeled with the following: "WARNING: Excessive exposure to violent video games and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behavior."

"We must hold the video game industry accountable and do everything in our power to ensure parents are aware of the detrimental effects that violent games can have before making decisions on which games are appropriate for their children to play," concluded Rep. Baca. "I am proud to introduce the Video Game Health Labeling Act of 2009, and am hopeful my legislation can work to stop the growing influence of violent media on America's children and youth."

Hey, I'm all for it, if Baca can come up with solid, irrefutable scientific proof that this is indeed the case. We've seen countless research reports arguing both sides of the subject; let's nail down something definitive before we start uglying up our game store shelves. I've a feeling this won't go anywhere and Joe Baca will go back to Kashyyyk.

@ Blackheart

LOL they also break up Marriages apparently. A guy I went too high school with just found out his wife (whom he has a kid with) is leaving him for someone she met on WOW. I have never face palmed so hard in my entire life. I ran into his best friend the other day and he told me. Blew my mind. I looked like Captain Picard for a solid minuet. Ridiculous.

WOW WoW! That's crazy. I used to play WoW and I remember that girl characters would always get hit on and what not. Kinda wanted to make one just to get free items/gold. Guess the "1337 gear" is her calling , feel so bad for that kid!

That sucks for that guy but that kind of stuff happens with or without WoW. The industry already has the ratings system so I don't know why they need to add more warnings on the boxes because parents just don't pay attention to them. I remember reading not to long ago that the agency that runs the ratings system got a A and the ones that failed were the parents because they don't pay attention to what they buy their kids.

I Love warning labels. They are pretty much giant flare guns for my attention when looking for games HAHAHA.

Or you can pretty much just go to this site: http://www.esrb.org/ratings/search.jsp

and on the right hand side set it to intense violence, and Playstation 3 and you pretty much have my shopping list (as horrible and messed up that is...it always works out that way) LOLOL.

I'd like to take a moment to reaffirm that I am a fully functioning member of society. I swear. LOLOL
