Well, I sat in the cold like thousands for 12 hours for the Nintendo Wii.  There were 20 consoles at my Walmart and 25 people waiting in an orderly fashion outside of the building.  I guess the 5 extra people were hoping for someone to get out of line, but we were all intent on staying in our seats and waiting. If we needed to go to the bathroom, we would ask our newly made friends to sit in both of our seats until we got back.

I bought my Wii, a Nunchuck, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and a pack of batteries for a total of $355 and some change at 12:10 A.M. I was third in line. Walmart said they didn't have any remotes in stock or I would have gotten one of those also.

I got home at about 12:25 A.M. and about 10 minutes of settling in and setting up the wii, I recieved my first Wii update. I tried the Wii Shop Channel and recieved and error. The number: 205928.  That is an internal error.

I called Nintendo at 800-255-3700 and they set me up with a new Wii for free as long as I return the defective one.  I should have the new Wii by Next Monday at the latest.(November 27, 2006).  I was discouraged by recieving a defective one, but hey all else is well.

Zelda plays great and is by far the best storyline ever for Zelda.  Wii Sports is addictive and Nintendo succeeded in bringing in non-gamers because my brother loves his Mii and the arcade style sports. My girl, Amber, is awed by the control scheme and loves to create Miis.  When the rest of the Channels get online, I'm sure she will be on it more.

Wii Sports did freeze on me and the power button on my remote nor the power button on the console were able to turn the console off. I had to pull out the cord to lose power.  After I turned the console back on, the console started just right and all is well.

I am very satisfied with Nintendo. I am very secure that the Wii will last longer than the GameCube did. This console will not die out like the GameCube did. I feel Sony is out and Microsoft and Nintendo is in.

Thanks for listening. J

So On The Spot has had 2 marathons in the week of November 6th, 2006.  The first one was for the Playstation 3.  I was impressed by graphics of the console, but overall, the games that the editors played were not all that fasinating.  I believe they were even disappointed by the playing of the games.  Example of reasons I believe this is true:  Resistance: Fall of Man.  Within ten minutes of them playing it, they gave up on the main mission point and started looking at '3D' tires and how well the glass broke when they shot it.  Sony, you better come out with some highly advanced, thick storylined games within the next 6 months or you will fail.

The next marathon was Nintendo's Wii. Once again the editors played and played and played.  One game was Super Monkey Ball: Bannana Blitz.  Why?  To get a feel of the controller? All they did was wail their arms up and down for every single minigame. How is that supposed to help us get the feel of the controllers?  They didn't even play Red Steel. Sure, the show before the marathon had a developer play the game, but they only played the demo.  Why is it the editors could get their hands on Zelda: Twilight Princess and Madden 07, but not Red Steel?  That was the game everyone was waiting for.  And when they played Zelda, it took them a good 20 minutes just for one task that when they finally found out what to do only took them 3 minutes. This happened for 3 different tasks.  They create forms for subscribers to submit questions, but when a solution to a puzzle comes up, they ignore it or pretend it was their idea.  Give us a break. When thousands are watching and submitting the same ideas you pretend to just come up with, you are bound to make yourself look stupid. Stop trying to look cool on camera and be a gamer. That is why you have this job to begin with.  And by the way, the beginning of Zelda was part of the demo, why didnt the editors who played the demo before hand know what to do? Beyond me.

Thanks for listening. J

Well, this is my second entry into my new blog writings. Sudaam Husan is going to be sentenced for his first crime tomorrow at 1AM ET time.  The verdict will be very hated by either side depending on what is sentenced.  The Sunni have said they will go into Civil War if Sudaam is sentenced to death.  That sentence is what needs to be declared. But also, we don't need another draft because of it. I will not go to Iraq. I will move to Canada before I go to war.  I love this country, but I have nothing against the people in Iraq who want to live in a communist country. Just leave us alone that's all we want.

disciple_slave must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could disciple_slave possibly have for not rating a single film?
