I don't know. You tell me. Does my hard drive look like its warranty is voided.

Yes, this actually is my hard drive. It took several days of effort, a hammer, a screwdriver, and a lot of patience to get it open.

End Transmission...

Why did you remove it from your laptop/pc?? was it broken?? were you bored and decided to take it apart? Is this some strange past-time or ritual in your country, "take apart your hard-drive" day??

Only one question.......WHY???. I pressume that you have not totally wrecked your pc, only the hard drive. My younger brother is just like you. He will take anything apart just to see how it works, but sadly he is hopeless at putting things back together. His repair jobs are the kiss of death to everything he touches.

I knew everyone would wonder why I did it, but I'd thought I'd see remarks before I said the other half of the story.

For one, the computer this computer came from is currently about eight years old if memory serves. Even then, the stats were pretty sad. Let's just say XP Home was out of it's range.

I was digging through it taking everything apart piece-by-piece to understand how a computer works better than I did before. I eventually was able to get the hard drive open like you see here. Glad to say I was succesful in learning a lot in this dissection. Currently that sad excuse for a desktop PC is in dozens of pieces now.
