Before I go into any details about my games of the year I want to make a biggish announcement - The name of my up and coming Machinima. It is... Just Another Day on the Job. I'm also reveal that I will be buying a URL for the Machinima. I'm not gonna say anymore than that right now, but I'm looking to release a trailer once the website is up an running (in a few months time). ofcourse you guys will be the first to see the trailer, my beta testers as it were.

But now onto more serious matters. I want to make a point: you may not agree with these selections and those who regularly read my blog will already no my number one choice.

10. Crackdown - Yeah It's shallow and yeah it has no story, but it is amazingly fun. Just jumping from building to building for hours, smoking fulls (with bad gunplay) and driving into things (mainly civilians). It's not hugely imaginative or innovative, but on sheer fun, this could be as high as number two.

9. Forza 2 - Despite the fact I didn't actually find it hugely fun, I have a huge amount of respect for the games realism, it's car customization system and it's online. It's never felt so good to race and Enzo round the Nissan Speedway or pimping out a Ford Fiesta, the game has so much depth and is so brilliantly detailed. Oh and by the way, I was joking about the Fiesta!

8. The Darkness - This game really shows how powerful story telling has become in games. Despite the fact I didn't much like the protagonist, you have to feel for Estacado, he's an emo in an Italian American gang, he doesn't want to shoot people he just wants to listen to Cradle of Filth! But in all seriousness despite the excessive auto-aim, the shameful AI and the slow speed you walk at this game had everything; I mean you could eat peoples hearts!

7. Shivering Isles - This game really influenced my mood: If I was in Dementia I was depressed, but in Mania I was happy. Some fans if Oblivion didn't like the insanity, but I loved it; in some ways more than the original. The quest and the people were just a lot more interesting than those in Cyrodil, and although I didn't get as much play time out of the expansion I still loved it!

6. Guitar Hero III - An awesome game with an awesome songlist. I liked almost every song in the game and the gameplay was tuned to a tee. This game really excelled and the new Guitar is so much less... Clicky than the one included with two. Still haven't finished Hard career though...

I'll have Part 2 soon.

Some supposedly great games there, although the only one i've dabbled with is Guitar Hero III and i have to agree, what a great game it is. I also agree about the lack of 'clickiness?', but just when they finally rid themselves of that they made the butons more 'clunky', or at least on my controller anyway.
