Quick Reviews
TRU CALLING -- I loved this show. And I love Eliza Dushku. The show is really great and I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the season one finale. Of course Eliza is amazing as always but the writing kinda bothered me. When they tried to write humor, I completely felt that it was forced and the writers tried too hard (except the Jack stuff which was great), which bothered me in every single episode. And some of the dead people Tru has to save are annoying as f*** (Like the actress, the coast guard lady etc.). The late addition of Jack was fantastic. I don't think that I could've asked for a better villain unless Glory from Buffy came in
POINT PLEASANT -- Point Pleasant is an absolutely fantastic show which is probably my favorite show to ever air on FOX (I completely lost interest in 24). I think that the acting is pretty good and the writing is terrific. Unlike most people I also really, really liked the pilot and it kept me wanting so much more. I didn't feel like the ending didn't have a resolution. My theory is that Jesse somehow came back alive and killed her in the street, just as in his vision. Either that or when the birds swarmed over her they killed her (that theory has an EXTREMELY long explanation so if you want it tell me). FOX should die a painful death for cancelling this as well. Grade- A
WONDERFALLS -- Wonderfalls is one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. The cast is way beyond terrific, it blew my mind away. I love Bryan Fuller's work on Dead Like Me (one of my five favorite shows of all time) and though he doesn't do as good of a job as he did on DLM I still think that it's amazing. The whole concept of the series is so smart and I just adore witty shows. I was very satisfied with the series ending although, again FOX needs to die ASAP for cancelling it.
MIRIACLES -- Ugh. I really tried hard to like this show but couldn't. The concept was a neat idea, but it played out on screen terribly. I was bored out of my mind in some episodes, but others were just OK. I never found one that I truly liked. And Skeet Ulrich annoys me so much which is part of the reason that I'm having a hard time watching Jericho. Basically I hated this show. Grade - D(plus)
MEDIUM -- I really enjoyed this show a lot. I think Patricia Arquette (?) does a beyond fantastic job as the lead and was extremely worthy of her Emmy win. The kids in the show are really cute as well and are actually pretty OK actors (unlike most of the kids on TV who are so terrible they make your eyes/ears bleed). The dreams are so neat and really make you feel as if you are in the dreams. I'm really excited to get the next season on dvd. I love it. Grade - A-
GILMORE GIRLS -- I got this show through Blockbuster Online, just because it's supposedly like Veronica Mars. Personally I don't see a resemblance, besides strong female characters and wittyness. Anyway I've only seen the first 7 episodes but this show is so funny my stomach hurts. Lorelei is so funny especially when she starts rambling on and on and on and on about whatever thing may be bothering her. Rory is a great and funny character too and its so weird to see Jared Padalecki like 7 years younger and not playing a demon hunter, I'm always like "Look it's Sam." (Speaking of Supernatural I loved this weeks episode). Rory's grandparents are so funny too, I just can't express how much I'm loving the show. Grade - A
ALIAS -- My best friend Sidney (ironic, huh? actually not really) has had seasons 1-2 for like a year now and never watched it so I took it from her. Even though I'm only on episode 15 I am really happy with the series so far and Jennifer Garner is a wonderful actress. The different missions Syd goes on are really fun and kinda, sorta, remotely suspenseful. I really can't stand Will, and I hope he leaves the show soon, like in the next episode. Ron Rifking is a really great dark villain and they could not have cast the role better. I also can't wait until Lena Olin comes in as Syd's mom. Yay. Grade - B(plus)
DAWSON'S CREEK -- I went to Target and season one was like $18 and James Van Der Beek who plays the lead is in my favorite movie of all time (Rules of Attraction). I bought it and was super surprised by how much I liked it. I thought it was gonna be a mediocre show to pass time, but it was way more than that. While it's not my new obsession, I still like it a lot. I'm pretty excited to get the second season because it is supposedly better than the first. I think the cast is good over all and the writing is good as well. It's no Veronica Mars or Gilmore Girls but its better than One Tree Hill, and almost better than The OC. I like it a LOT! I'm very excited for season 2! Grade - B
NIP/TUCK-- Well, I initially started watching Nip/Tuck because I love everything that's juicy and a little naughty
