The yellow light of death happens only in the PS3 because of overheating or HDD problems, but most likely is overheating.
It happens when you play more than 10 hours a day, non-ventilation or simply keep it turn in on for a long time. You cannot remove the disc of you're PS3 and cannot do anythin more than call Sony and pay more than 150$ for fix it.And only 0.3 percent of users have this problem.
Why i'm telling you this? Because my PS3 is dead and the fu**ing YLOD beated my PS3 today ![]()
But luckly i saw that there is a cheap solution (But i cannot say that it isn't dangerous) so i will start the repair tommorrow with a profesional, cuz' i don't know anything about this things lol.
Wish me luck guys.
Comments
@Colmillios : There's no easy way, we need to open comepletly the PS3 and fix the motherchip
@AbyssD : It happened to you already? And yeah i thought too that the 360 was the only that had that kind of problem, but the diefference here is that Microsoft have 3 year warranty and Sony only 1 year, everybody that being affected by the YLOD is screwed, but there a few solutions to this.
@gormo4 : It's useless in this case
@Primo295: Thx
