i guess i'll start with the beginning. i firmly believe that my zuko/katara ship began extremely early in season 1 be4 i even knew any of it exsisted. it was firmly implanted in my mind around imprisoned which is ep. 6 i think. it was reinforced by every zutarians favorite moment of the waterbending scroll. and by the fortune teller i had already convinced alisha 2 switch from kataang 2 zutara. very proud of myself 4 that.

now there is the obvious yin and yang, opposites attractstuff that appeals it 2 every1. but they r really similar. stubborn, strong, determined, hot, they really do care about the ppl they love (in different ways of course). its just 1 of those things. and i can always pull the pyschologicalcrap of how girl's brains are about 2 yrs ahead of boys and thus the 2 yr age difference between zuko and katara is extremely logical. then 1 of my personal favorites is the aunt wu prediction of "u will marry a powerful bender" to katara. however this is 4ever debatable but in my head it works a lot 4this ship u just have 2 have faith.

i am very logical about all of this unlike many of my counterparts. its weird 2 be so obsessed and yet so realistic. pain of being a writer i guess. in all actuality i used 2 think that no ship unless involved w/ sokka would actually happen. however, the atla mag has confirmed that the biggest ship war in the history of the show will be solved by the end. and i have high hopes 4 my own.

now on 2 the issue of opposing ships. i shall start w/ the biggest kataang. personally aside from the age difference as somewhat reverse refferenced 2 above, just their personalities don't work much beyond friendship. they're 2 similar 4 me personally. u can't have 2 similar ppl or ppl who r 2 opposing. but the defining moment 4 me was during crossroads in which the guru specifically told him that he could not love some1 beyond friendship. and 2 me that is the day kataang died. and so this brings me 2 maiko. now this cannot be helped much b/c it is offical cannon right now. but it won't last this is confirmed so honestly i don't know how much else i can comment. except i will say that zuko seems slightly forced whether it be slightly subconscious or what. but we know he goes 2 find katara b/c her line in the trailer is "i willnever turn my back on the ppl who need me!" and i saw his robe 4 like a half a second touching her shoulder.
