You know I'm surprised at how mow much I like this show. I'm not entirely sure why. The main point that I do like is that the backgrounds of the individual characters are very real and sometimes heartbreaking. Naomi for instance. They set her up in the permiere to be the typical poplar girl who gives hell to everyone who gets in her way. Almost immediately I got something from her though. It might have been because of the instance where she got in trouble for copying a paper. Her parents immediately dismissed her intelligance and she took offense. And now seeing the next few episodes you have to feel for her since she's now in a very typical family situation. But my favorite part of her story is when she went to Ethan's house and calmly helped him with his disabled brother.

My only big issue with the show is trying to hard to incorperate the old show with the spin off. Granted I never watched the original, mostly because I was to young and didn't care to watch the reruns. Yet I think they've put enough story with all the new characters that's it's not needed. Yet overall I do like the show.

I have become slightly addicted to this show as of late. And I've also been seeing lots of questions on whether this show is truely a good thing or an exploytation. Personally I think it's a good thing. It sheds light on how addiction may start out as a choice but it then becomes a disease. I also think it shows to those people who think that quitting something like alcohol or drugs is easy. Of course it isn't. I've always admired Dr. Drew for his knowledge on many medical related subjects, but it's really interesting to me to hear his points on addiction. I don't think the show is exployting any of the celebs on there at all. In a way I think the cameras are like a reminder to them that they should be trying their best to get sober and clean. For some it seems to work and for others it doesn't, but that's addiction for you. It's hard to give up something your body feels it needs. All in all I don't see what the big deal is really. It's a good show and obviously some of the participants are truely trying their best to get better.

I've been thinking lately about the frequent women on one of my favorite shows Supernatural. Now I'll admit that when i hear that 2 women were being added as regulars to the cast I was like many of the other fans skeptical. I mean 2 girls + 2 guys generally equals love interests. But as the introductions of Bella and Ruby came up I actually liked them and since the recent episodes love them. This is completely different from what I felt about Jo from last season. To this day I don't like her. I think it may be b/c she acted like a whiny brat most of the time. And probably b/c Dean and Sam could kick her ass and call her out. Bella and Ruby however are much more entertaining in their interactions with the Winchester boys. Plus the more we learn about their pasts is actually quite intreging especially in Ruby's case. Bella keeps the boys on her toes with constantly stealing things from them and all. And now the writers are playing up on a crush Sam has seemed to develop. I don't think it'll get anywhere really but still fun to watch. Overall I think that the character development on all the levels plus the actual stories within the show are the best they've ever been and so far this is my favorite season.
