Drowning my wallet aga-ain . . . .
So as some of you know, I now work at a car wash. It may not be the most enjoyable job out there, but pay is decent and the managers and supervisors are nice people, so I don't really mind it.
The main problem is when the weather is bad: No cars come in, so I don't get much work. The last 2 - 3 weeks haven't been bad, but this week once again we're looking towards at least 2 rainy days. Not good.
On another rain-related topic, the Red River Flood of 2009 is slowly receding in the Winnipeg area. Floods are a common occurence here in Winnipeg, since we live extremely close to water level, so before this area was urbanized the water would often cover an area of land several kilometers wide. We now have some of the best flood protection available to modern man, but there's still often a fear of basement flooding. Luckily most homes escaped that this year, even though we had the 2nd worst flood in the last 100 years.
Hope this isn't too depressing, for now, I'm Dark Minun.

As for the flood, yeah my basement did fine but there has been a lot of damage in the province . . . something like $200 million province-wide, I think.

Did your basement survive the RRF '09?
