Don't know why, but after finishing my Damnation review I sat down to write my next review, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, and I just didn't feel like doing it. I usually love writing down my thoughts and impressions on various games, but lately it all seem like a chore. I have nothing new or interesting to say about any of the games I've played recently, and it really bugs me. Don't know if it just these particular games or if it's something bigger than that, but I hope it passes soon.

Don't get me wrong, Call of Juarez:BIB was an awesome game, and I even gave it an 8.0, I just can't find anything to say about it (nothing that can fill 2 pages). My review of this game can go something like this:
Fun, if headache-inducing, gameplay. Amazing graphics with beautiful scenery and a decent, predictable story.
That's all I've got, seriously... There is nothing else that caught my eye in my 6+ hours of playing.

What do you do when you don't feel like sitting down and writing your ideas and thoughts? Do you have any tips (or good games) for a disgruntled PC gamer?

I admire people who can review each game they played. Not that it's a lot of writing but personally I can only review point & click games or games that are controversial (in a way that e.g. GS gives them 3/10 and I want to give 8/10), but I never managed to review any game of those giants of gaming industry like older Tomb Raider games, Silent Hill or Final Fantasy.

I feel the same way about reviews, which is why I simply don't write a review for every game I play. Basically, the reviews I do are all because I felt I did have something pertinent to say about the experiece, which is why I only end up reviewing about 1 in every 3 games I play.

My latest reviews were for Eternal Sonata, Folklore, and Prince of Persia, all of which I felt the desire to express my opinions on, but I also played some other games in that time that I didn't bother reviewing for the same reasons as yourself.

I guess that's how inspiration works, DB. The very gaming experience can change depending on our mood and willingness to spend time gaming. Write when you feel like or it'll be the very definition of a chore or obligation. I think that one only writes reviews of every game played if there's money involved or if one doesn't game that much. For people who are consistently playing it's hard to write about every single game.

I wish I write a review for every game I finish but somehow I never find enough time or motivation to do so. Let me tell you this, I also write movie reviews from time to time. I used to review every single movie I watched (and I watch a lot) but one day I just stopped doing this. Sometimes you just need to take a break from something. I'm hardly ever happy with my game reviews, I always think, I coould've done it better. I also noticed that it's easier to write negative reviews cause when you have super-duper awesome perfect game, there is just that you can write about it. With not so perfect games you can go on and on and on with your complaints about it which sometimes can be really fun

When there's an obsession to do something it will soon become an labour.
