Yep, yesterday I finished my last exam and am now on a 5 week break until Spring Session begins. First session at uni always brings a few hurdles, though I've been lucky that they have not been that bad for me, though I did purposely choose some of the easiest courses just to get into the hang of it.
Of the four courses I did, they were all very varied. Accounting 1A was something I had to do (prerequisit for Accounting 1B next session), and overall it wasn't as boring as you think. We had a really brilliant lecturer and he was able to make the most boring accounting work interesting. Introduction to Business Information Systems was the "easy" course I did, and it was entirely crap. The lectures were boring, subject content was boring and the practical work was out of date (Excel was using Office 2003, Frontpage is now discontinued software). Of my Arts courses The Cold War and After was by far the most interesting in that our lecturer always engaged us and brought about different views to incidents in the Cold War and modern-day "war on terror". Finally was The Art of Politics, which was not that bad, but it focused too much on Machiavelli (about 50% of assessment marks on him) and not too much on current issues.
Next session I'm going to do 5 courses, just to knock out my compulsary commerce courses by first session next year. Accounting 1B should be interesting, though quite difficult. It is supposed to get into GST and accounting on the computer, and not the traditional written versions of Accy 1A. Macroeconomic Essentials for Business and Introductory Microeconomics will also be quite interesting, as I highly enjoyed economics last year and I topped the grade in it as well. My final commerce course being done isMarketing Principles which will determine whether or not I decide to major in marketing. My one and only Arts course this semester will be Revolutions in Science: History, Philosophy and Politics of Science, which seems like a complex course but will be interesting to complete. Plus it fits right into my "gap times" between other commerce courses.
So what's to do in the next 5 weeks. I got myself a 60-day card for World of Warcraft again, so I might just get addicted to that for a while. I've also finished the campaign of Gears of War, which is a great game. I'm replaying it again to try and get more achievements (Xbox isn't connected to the internet, so my achievement's haven't been updated on the profile). Might also pick up another game or two ... depends whether or not I get bored with what I've got now. I'll also spend a lot of time reading my novels and maybe get a bit into next semesters textbooks (maybe
).
Thats it. C ya!
Comments
@TristanH12 - Half my classes have to be commerce classes as it's a double degree I'm doing
@DrFish62 - See, my high school was called a "college"
@ArmoredCore55 - Thanks a lot!
@Caddy06_88 - It does. Not as good as finishing HS though
@Elraptor - Thanks, I hope it turns out fun
@DrFish62 - Most public high schools are called "high schools", but private ones are called colleges in their names. For example, I went to a St ********'s College
@Dan_Lero - Lucky you for finishing!
