I don't often admit to being wrong. But when I am *wrong* I am very, very wrong usually.

Firefly is one of the best shows I have ever watched. I feel like an idiot for not seeing it before. I feel like even more of an idiot because the person who finally brought me around to it again was the person who introduced me to it initially.

I'm converted now, though. Firefly...World of Warcraft. What the hell's next?

NOTE: I greatly apologize for the formatting here. I used a partial post from an old entry to create a lot of the formatting for this one, and it seems, from attempting to do that, that they made the HTML checker more twitchy than it ever was before in terms of what tags are and are not allowed, and where they are and are not allowed to be. I'll get around to reformatting this properly at a later date, but simply for the sake of time, and my sanity, and my need for sleep, I'm leaving it as it is for now.

A brief synopsis. I'm not dead, I've just taken a small hiatus from submitting on the site. I've been busy with various things, and more interested in actually watching TV than talking about it.

I've ditched Windfall. The show jumped the shark several episodes back, and I saw it coming for a while. I'm embarrased that I watched for as
long as I did.

I abandoned Angela's Eyes after two episodes. The main character wasn't very likeable. I don't care how paranoid you are, you don't put a tracking device on a guy you're dating. And I can't imagine that someone couldn't actually prosecute for that. I think I would.
I didn't like Eureka, and I fell asleep during the second episode. Too much hokey comedy, not enough good drama. The characters were not very
likeable either. I stopped watching Saved, as well. It wasn't bad, I just decided not to keep watching. I realized that my taste in TV was
starting to...disappear. I was losing my ability to discriminate between shows that were really really good, and shows that were simply okay.

Now onto the real surprise. A few posts back, you can see that I was simply enthralled with Psych. Well, that died after the first episode. I have also abandoned watching that. The whole "I'm a fake psychic" deal got old fast. Really fast. I kept wanting to slap the main character. I don't think I've left out any shows that I stopped watching, although I may have missed one. Now, I enjoyed the pilots for Traveler and Heroes and Studio 60. I watched another pilot for something that hasn't even been ordered to series yet, and I hope it never is. Something about a place in California called Santa Ruiz. Very blah. Very drama. Not a whole lot of interest. It's hard to believe that Bones will be
coming back in less than a month now.

I've continued to watch Kyle XY. While the whole high school aspect annoys me slightly, since I didn't even feel like I belonged in high school when I *was* there, the story continues to get better, and I've heard it's gotten renewed for a second season. I'm getting ready to watch Three Moons Over Milford, to see whether that's any good. The premise sounded intriguing, but, as you can see by the trail of discarded shows behind me, I've said that before and haven't been overly impressed.

I'm loving The 4400, Stargate SG-1, and Stargate Atlantis. And this most recent episode of Monk was the first one of the season that I've truly liked. I hope the show continues to get back at what first made it enjoyable. If it can keep doing that, I'll be very happy.

Well, a sneak peek of the new fall programming has been bestowed upon us by the TV Gods. The Nine and Shark both look good, although I'm not sure Shark is one I'd continue to watch. It's a good show, just not necessarily my style. I haven't watched Jericho yet.

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis finally premiered last night. I loved the SG-1 premiere, although it had its predictable moments. Stargate Atlantis I loved less so - it felt very jumbled, and that, combined with the fact that it ended with "To Be Continued" really left me wanting for more. The acting also felt off, which is probably a result of the fact that rather than everyone working together as a team, everyone was separated. The only two characters who truly felt normal were Sheppard and Weir, probably because they are the strongest characters of the entire series and have no problems standing on their own two feet. That's not to diminish the acting abilities of the rest of the cast, it's simply the way it works. One of my other complaints had little to do with the actual episode and more to do with the fact that guest episode credits that spoil the general direction of an episode should be shunted to the end credits. Seeing Robert Picardo listed in the Atlantis credits immediately told me that Earth would be involved in the episode in some way, which is significant and rare for an Atlantis episode.

All in all, I can't complain. This is the fifth season premiere I've had the privilege of watching for SG-1, and the third for Atlantis. While I wouldn't rank them as my top favorites, they were good. SG-1 premiere I would put after Season 8 and Season 6, but before Season 7 and Season 9. Stargate Atlantis was my least favorite premiere to date of the three, but was still far better than most of the garbage that ends up on network TV.
