Sorry for the delay in updating,
Work has been, well work for the last few days so I wanted to give the update.
Keeping in mind my 360 RROD-ed on Sunday March 16th, I had a pre-paid shipping box Tuesday March 18th, it even came with a strip of tape to seal the box, everything I needed to ship it back was included.
Since I was not expecting a 48 hour turn around my 360 was not at work, so it was shipped the morning of Wednesday March 19th and recieved at the Microsoft repair facility Thursday March 20th (Keep in mind that March 21st is the Good Friday Holiday)
Today is Monday March 24th, and much to my surprise a package was left on my chair which was signed for this morning at 10:14AM EST.
A Five Business Day Turn Around...Box, Return to Microsoft, Return to me.
Had I shipped it the Tuesday, chances are I would have had it back the Thursday of last week.
While I am annoyed it happend, the fact that I got a working unit back within five business days is truly stunning,
It also makes me realize how full of it those claiming "Ten Weeks" on system wars are.
Comments
My SNES wouldn't turn on because some solder joint broke inside which I had to pay for myself about two years after buying it
My Dreamcast had two of the controller ports go dead, and my N64 had one go dead and again I was stuck with the bill
My PS2 needed to be fixed twice because of the DRE, and each time was nearly 100 bucks with shipping, Whereas my 360 broke nearly 2 and a half years into ownership and it didn't cost me a dime, So you can take that for what its worth, I just wish all the consoles manufacturers took the same degree of responsibility that MS is.
