Have you got an album and you like about half the songs in it and hate the others. I had this happened to me before. 808's & Heartbreak is the only album that i really enjoyed as a whole. Each song really had this nice background music and some nice deep lyrics. Kanye West really did it this time, he made hip hop music to go in a different direction. Now for me Kanye West is not like another "alright" singer but one of my top 3 favorite singers. To tell about 808's & Heartbreak there are some pretty deep songs in it but, its not all about heartbreak, there are some nice, sweet songs in it as well like Street Lights and Robocop. Not a lot of rappers make songs from there heart and emotion so its a little. The music is simply amazing as well, it doesn't have that hardcore beats going on like most rap songs but, nice soft beat and real melody type music. My 2 favorite songs from this album are Amazing and Welcome to Heartbreak all the other songs are a perfect 10 but, these 2 really got in to me. If you dont like rap music you should give this album a chance. Trust me you won't be disappointed.
As a last resort, I would like to say that 808's & Heartbreak have some really sweet music and good morals in it, that you dont see in todays music. Kanye West is going in the right direction.

I'm not into hip hop to much but from what little i've heard that auto tone thing that he used on his voice, well it seems really annoying. But maybe that's just me. And it seems like all the rappers are using nowadays. Pretty soon robots will be singing their songs

super: auto tune is kinda annoying but kanye didnt use a lot of auto tune and in th songs he did use they blended well.

Yeah I have felt that way about a cd before. I think that is why I really don't go out and buy cd's anymore.

I'm a big fan of Kanye West, but the College Dropout Kanye West; not the wannabe T-Pain voice synchronized Kanye West. I'd rather not listen to the album. I'm a hardcore hip-hop fan and it's hard for me to say that.

I liked some of his songs in past albums. He was always a hit and miss with me. Some of his songs are good others not so much. This album for me might be the same, i have heard some of his songs from the new one, i liked a few of them but not all.

Kanye West is a great rapper, and yes I have a cd that I only like half of the songs, that's why I mostly just preview the cd first on barnesandnoble to see if it'll be good to spend the money on it.

i have this cd as well and i liked robocop and welcome to heartbreak...but my favorite song from the album was heartless.....but as you said a lot of it i didnt like....

Well to be honest, at times he is pretty pleasent with the music, thing is what i like about Kyane West is that, most of his lyrics are involved with deep, intense emotion, that really makes me want to listen to it over and over again. After hearing your feedback, I think ill check this album out!

meh, good point. But a true fan would probably would like the songs, even if some has it's medicore feelings, but hey, im always the type of person attempting to listen to some new music, so this might be a new keeper to me.
