As a black male, I am seriously happy that we elected an African American as a president. It fells like a huge step forward in stopping the racism. "high five" to everyone who voted for Barack Obama. Hey, McCain supporters, I still have respect for John McCain as well because he a areal American ans as he said he has the scares to prove it. But,I didnt like it when he wanted to stay in Iraq and fight until they win. I am thining we should care about our own country before we care about another country. I heard that McCain lost the election because of Sarah Palin, they said McCain chosed her because he just wanted to win the the election. I am also real happy that it's the end of George W. Bush's president years. He should be packing his stuffs to get the hell out of there. I just hope that Barack Obama doesn't screw up like Bush. Well, anyways good luck to himand let's see if he is going to bring us hope as he promised

Another history lesson for future students

The war in Iraq has been going on for awhile now. Why are our soldiers fighting there? Why do we have to spend our country's money to make there government better? when they themselves are poured with money from oil. We are spending trillions of dollars on Iraq and we have a millions of problems in here itself. I hope we could forget about Iraq, bring our soldiers back and spend the money to strengthen our national security and help the citizens. Isn't that much easier? other than going to war with other countries and getting a bad name for ourselves.

Not a lot of people are happy are happy about his winning. They think he might screw us over worse than Bush did. I don't know what to believe on that, but I try to believe my beliefs as best as I can.

nintendo: it would be amazing if another president screwed up more than Bush. I think he would still do more batter than bush.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 5:04 am PT
I would vote for Obama if I was american.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 5:39 am PT
well we really dont want anyone screwing up now do we?
Posted Nov 8, 2008 5:43 am PT
overdose: Many outside people support him as well
tri: thats the last thing we won't
Posted Nov 8, 2008 5:50 am PT
i didn't knew you were black!BLACK POWER! lol but yeah it's a huge step into fighting racism...Too bad he is going to get killed...
Posted Nov 8, 2008 6:05 am PT
its true dont have no more motives to let the soldiers in iraq
Posted Nov 8, 2008 6:07 am PT
x29: lol. why do people say he is going to get killed?
guil: yeah, thats why need them out.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 6:24 am PT
We are still in Iraq because we destroyed their country and goverment. They are in the process of rebuilding, we owe it to the people over there now to help rebuild what we destroyed. Same thing happened after WWII in Europe and Japan.... people like to forget that for some reason though.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 7:14 am PT
gen: You have a point but, it would have never happened if we didnt go there on the first place.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 7:27 am PT
I wish we could get out of Iraq as well, I know my husband is suppose to go over there sometime here soon. He has to leave for 6 months! So it would be nice if we could move out of Iraq and everything. And you are right about the Sarah thing, it just seems like a lot people thought she could not handle being the president. But like you said I hope he can fix a lot of things that Bush has messed up.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 7:33 am PT
hopefully he does an okay job.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 7:41 am PT
c-mill: I am really sorry to hear that, there are many people like you who have sent there family members over there and worrying about them. I wish Obama would do it as well, it would make a lot of people of people happy.

fantasy: Lets hope so

I think everything is more complicated than it looks. I also know that I'm not educated enough in politics to make a worthwhile opinion. I have a feeling that what little I see and hear in the media is not a full picture point of view. I think it's fair to say no matter what the arena, or who you're talking about, the wrong thing to do is usually easy, and the right thing to do is often hard.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 8:04 am PT
ebb: thats true, its hard to the right thing, especially making something right after another person (bush) messed up.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 8:12 am PT
I like to make history as much as the next guy but I would rather have a great leader. So far that 50 -100 community service high school and college he supposedly called is what I'm not liking.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 8:52 am PT
legend: Great leader is our first motive now. I didnt get what you meaned in that second line.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 9:01 am PT
For me as a black person too feels as if though some people voted for him just because he was black, i dont think that reason justifies voting for him, I hope everyone has better reasons than that. Im glad he one though cause he doesnt feel we should be in iraq right now, which is true because the whole "war" was very unnecessary if it was even there in the first place.

I like anyone else would love to see how he does on his first term as president

This "war" as i stated early is quite the enigma, it has almost no real purpose except the wish of power and control. We dont need to be over there cause if im correct, America is the terrorist for invading their land. Its a bit too late but we already have bad names in other countries as is.

Also here is a fact for knowledge, war is strength for our economy, it brings jobs and money to our country. No matter how stupid it sounds, its true
Posted Nov 8, 2008 9:37 am PT
I believe if you are in high school, 50 hours of community service is required. For college, it is 100 hours.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 9:43 am PT
Zenesis: Thats not the reason, I voted for him. He had some good way to make USA back up again. Its hard to vote for him, when you hear people say "you vote for him because you are in the same race". Thats not entirely true. Iraq is what made America go downhill. I dont think he wouldnt do a lot for the first term but maybe after that he will or it could be vice versa.

In a way we are terrorists as well, we have no right to go and invade another country and throw away there leader, no matter how horrible he is. Its there peoples choice. America has the tendecy o go and mess with other countries, we should just sit down and care about ourselves.

Maybe that why they areinading other countries

Legend: Really I didnt know that, Actually 100 hours is a lot. But not something impossible. Why did he change that to a 100?
Posted Nov 8, 2008 9:58 am PT
code: I know you didnt, im refering to the other people of the same race. Its not everybody but some didnt know why they voted for him besides the fact of him being black, which isnt much of a reason. Obama i think will do find, could he be worst than bush, i dont think so.

I agree thats why troops shouldnt be over there, we shouldnt be fighting unless we have to and that is only when we are being invaded or attacked. Because war helps the economy, i dont think this war will be going anywhere too soon though.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 10:11 am PT
I hope the change he promises is REAL...only time will tell though
Posted Nov 8, 2008 10:26 am PT
zenesis: I know you didnt mean me, I was making it clear to everyone. Some people does do that. Some people looked at the age as a thing in this electio as well. It would be amazing if anyone was worse than Bush.

I dont think like Obama said he would stop the war this quickly that would actually would make matters worse, but gradually he will stop it. We get mad when another country invades its neighboring country but we dont recognize what we are doing.

eyerok: Well not every president keep there promises, so we just have to sit and watch the show.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 10:33 am PT
lets hope he makes a good job! im not american but i have family there.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 11:07 am PT
kroatos: lets hope so, thats all we can do
Posted Nov 8, 2008 11:26 am PT
Yeah, I hope Obama does a good job, unlike Bush. Everyone supported Bush until a year after 911 when he started to screw the economy over. To tell the truth- I wasn't supporting Obama or McCain. I didn't want Palin being in control of anything, and Obama is just a bit inexperianced to be in such a high position. I have faith in him though, and he'll learn as the time goes on. I really hope Obama will fix up our economy though- we need less money going out of this country and more money circulating here. I mean, the economy is so bad right now that Hershey is moving their factory to China because it's cheaper to import ingredients and stuff... Yeah, I hope Obama can fix what Bush broke.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 11:39 am PT
ninja: Obama is inexperienced but Bush wasnt all good with his experience either, but i know what you mean. Every company is moving to China nowadays. If this keeps happening America is going to suffe so badly.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 12:05 pm PT
Obama's progression to presidency has inspired many people, including myself. It's a great thing to see how far we've come since America's inception. While it's too early to tell how Obama will fare as president, I have high hopes and know that his motives will be good. Good luck to Obama.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 12:06 pm PT
AK: it is amazing indeed to see how grown america is.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 12:26 pm PT
I wanted Obama to win. McCain was good for me, Obama too, I was like evenly paired. Also, it's good he won.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 1:03 pm PT
raim: i actually share the same feeling
Posted Nov 8, 2008 1:14 pm PT
Yeah a lot of people are scared of Obama as president, but I think we have to give Obama a chance and see how he does in office before we can judge him.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 1:55 pm PT
mac: yeah, never undeestimate people
Posted Nov 8, 2008 1:59 pm PT
Congrats to Obama for winning!
Posted Nov 8, 2008 2:08 pm PT
naruto: yeah it was a tough election
Posted Nov 8, 2008 2:23 pm PT
Now that Obama is going to be president I just hope the economy improves. Right now everything is a mess.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 2:24 pm PT
I don't understand politics, and I haven't been following the American election. However, based solely on appearances and "vibe", I think Obama was the better candidate. I don't know why, but McCain just screamed "George Bush the 2nd" at me with his every forced smile. Obama just radiates this aura of confidence, like he actually knows what he has to do.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 2:48 pm PT
Well First Name Five things Caused by Bush that were bad... Second hes also Muslim(The people were at war with) I dont Mind an African American but a Muslim...
Posted Nov 8, 2008 4:09 pm PT
McCain too much experience, Obama too less experience, but obama won, CONGRATS!!
Posted Nov 8, 2008 4:26 pm PT
I didn't want Obama to win since I don't really like his policys (more of a tax on the rich, less on the working class = less people wanting to get higher paying jobs ) but the eleciton's over so lets see what happens, hopefully I'll be proven wrong and he turns out to be a great president

I say for the war in Iraq, if the government is still unstable there our troops should stay because if they don't then who knows what will happen to their government, maybe we'll be the next target But I do agree with you that we should take care of our problems first then focus on another country.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 5:00 pm PT
Obama is teh bomb..He doesn't even look black to me >_>
Posted Nov 8, 2008 5:05 pm PT
Barack Obama is the man!
Posted Nov 8, 2008 5:29 pm PT
Yes Obama is the best hope of turning this country around he'll fix alot if not everything.
Posted Nov 8, 2008 6:24 pm PT
