I decided to write a little editorial about the biggest gaming failures, so feel free to check it out ^^.

The Little Console That Couldn't - Top 5 Biggest Failures

1. The Phantom
If you haven't heard of it, don't worry, not many people have. I'm not sure if this could really be considered a "failure" seeing as it was never released, but in my opinion, that's why it's a failure. The cancelled device was supposedly planned to be capable of playing current and future PC games, giving the system a massive initial game library and making it easier for developers to produce games for the system. The system was continuously pushed back and was eventually cancelled due to financial problems. Biggest failure ever? You betcha!

2. Nintendo Virtual Boy
A 3D console sure did sound cool, but back in 1995, it could not be done... at all. Virtual Boy gave thousands of people headaches with its hideous red and black ONLY visuals. It sold 700,000 copies, and of those 700,000 people, at least one of them had to of gone blind. It lasted a year, and only 22 games were released. Way to go Virtual Boy!

3. Nokia N-Gage
Part cell phone, part game system, sounds like a dream come true right? Well, it wasn't. The N-Gage was NOT a powerful system. Most of the games were barely more technically proficient than a normal Mobile game, and with a steep price and the GBA already on the market, there didn't seem to be much of a point. It sold 3,000,000 copies and will be forever remembered as... a failure.

4. Sega Dreamcast
I bet you thought this would be higher on the list, didn't you? Well, although the Dreamcast completely destroyed Sega's console career, it had a lot of memorable games and sold well... at first. I can't be nice here though, these ARE the biggest failures after all, so let me explain. The Dreamcast was a last generation hopeful. It was meant to compete with the Playstation 2. Quick note... it couldn't. After the PS2 was released Dreamcast's sales died and ended up killing Sega's console making career... forever. Fanboys are still waiting for there Dreamcast 2... it's not coming.

5. 3DO
3DO was supported by a lot of different publications (Time magazine called it "Product of the year). However, due to a hefty price tag ($700) and an already booming market, the 3DO failed to attract any attention. It sold a measly 2,000,000 copies and had a life-span of three years (those three years weren't exactly the liveliest). It had a lot of potential, but back then, $700 was way too much for video games. Actually, it still is way too much.

Clive Barkers Jericho

Pros- Creative team switching, fantastic storyline, Lots of different powers Cons- Idiotic team mates that require constant healing, corny dialouge, AI is questionable, long load times.

Most Likely I'll Give It: 6.5

Medal of Honor Heroes 2

Pros- Fantastic aiming controls, multiplayer actually works well, Arcade mode rocks, fun minigames. Cons- World War II.. again, sniper controls can get annoying (they can be changed), repetitive missions.

Most Likely I'll Give It: 8

GTA IV

Pros- Improved shooting and fighting mechanics, smarter cops, improved story, very lengthy, best GTA yet. Cons- Missions can get repetitive, long load times.

Most Likely I'll Give It: 9.5

Some people just don't have opinions. Like cloud878.
cloud878 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could cloud878 possibly have for not rating a single film?
