I am so sick, sick and tired of hearing people say, "Give Sony time. Xbox has been out a year".

Excuse me, Sony had 1 year to prepare and come out swinging. Instead they came out with a loud mouth and literally nothing to show for it. I have the ps3 with 2 games, 1 good and 1 that is the biggest gaming disappointment I have ever had in motorstorm (not to mention my system has been discontinued).

But if you wait it will come. What is this, field of dreams?

Please stop with the "give them time crap".These aremajor corporations and not some high school kid trying to catch a break.

If you are a real gamer, and fair minded, and enjoy playing games then you would know that the 360 has had games for well over 1 year. They got better and better and better. Please don't sit here and say the 360 doesn't have games if you have not played a good portion of them, or you do not own a 360 and have never used it.

Sony looks to have a good line-up for 07 (mostly multiplat); however, so does MS at a cheaper price point. Sony has done some of the strangest things this time around by now discontinuing 2 consoles in less than 8 months. Do consumers even bother to buy the 80 gig in August? Since Sony will drop the price at some point why even bother buying the system in the 1st place?

Lastly, I am also so sick of some people saying the 360 cost nearly the same as the ps3. No it doesn't. The closest is the elite now. However, the HD DVD add on is not wanted by consumers who have chosen to use their gaming console to play games. WOW, what a concept! The add-on has sold just about 200,000 units and the 360 has sold 11.6M systems.

That says that consumers do not care for HD movies and thus they find no need to have it included in their gaming console.

Remember facts speak more than anything and the fact remains, the ps3 is in last for a reason, poor management, poor marketing, and an attitude that you will buy the ps3 even if there is literally nothing to play on it but bluray movies since gaming has been forgotten by Sony thus far.

Don't talk about it Sony, be about it!

But that's not all!

Community to Microsoft; fix that box and stop hiding and pretending that everything is copastatic.

It isn't, not even close. I (and I hate to say this) am now on my third 360. My very first one was a launch system that died due to hardware failure in Jan. of this year. No big deal I thought as I had purchased the PRP from best buy and simply returned it and they gave me a new one. Well 3 weeks later the new one gave me a disc read error on every single disc. So I had to return the system to MS who repaired it and sent it back to me. Well the elite came out in April and I decided to replace mine for the Elite for the use of the bigger hard drive and the HDMI output. So far so good, however, with all the news of 3 year warranties and MS finding issues with their design, I am now worried the system will die on me while playing 1 of 13 games I plan to purchase on the system over the holiday timeframe. I would hate to be jamming while playing Rock Band online and find that I have incurred complete hardware failure and will then be out of my system for one week.

Final verdict; MS recall the 360 and repair them to be up to code with the so called redesign happening this fall. I enjoy gaming and I do not enjoy sitting on edge while playing because I fear that at any moment the system will crash.

Nintendo, I won't even waste my time with a response.

This generation of gaming is like riding a psychotic horse into a burning building.

Edit: 10/25/07

Looks like since this blig the 360 has came back strong with the games we enjoy, fix the issues with overheating (at least covered everyone for 3 years) and has taken back the lead.

Sony (with 5 different skus that is more confusing to consumers) has completely messed everything up. over 5 million sold worldwide with less than 2 million in the u.s is a joke. Better luck next year but remember sony, we are gamers, not bluray movie fans and thus bring the games already!

Sony can't catch a break, or they can't keep their mouth closed. Which one would you pick? Word comes that the price cut isn't really a cut as they are getting rid of the 60 gig in America and replacing it with the 80 gig at $599 (btw the game might or might not continue to be included. My bet is that after the holidays the game will stop being included).

Talk about rip off.

Well they are simply getting rid of the 60 (which is costing them more money with that emotion chip inside) and once gone they will be back at $599.

This was a Clever marketing but truly underhanded cheap ploy by Sony. I was about to be 5% points pro Sony over MS. Well that is now gone.

For consumers you better hope they have at least 1 million sitting around North America so that they will get some form of savings.

Good job for yet another cheap move!

Sony should have never said anything about their plans as it now makes them appear like cheap used car salesperson. The only reason why the EU guy probably said anything was because Sony made everyone think the EU boss had full control of the price and he was like you are not going to throw me under the bus, which they did anyway.

Good will be gone in about 1 month.

I have been gone for a minute but I have returned with E3.

Right Now I am going to deal with sony 1st (you will understand later in other blogs).

What to expect for Sony, the creater of the most expensive gaming console currently in the market? I wasn't too sure, but it all started last week with an initial $100 price cut and the addition of the 80 Gig unit available in August. The price cut isn't deep enough as I was expecting $150 at the very least. It will have an impact but it will not be a major mad rush to go out and get one from the mass market consumer. I expect the monthly North American sales to go from 80,000 per month to 105,000 for august and 120,000 for sept. I expect the biggest increase will happen in the month of Oct. when GTA is released and I expect Sony to sale 210,000 units for the month due to that game being released and many other great options available for the early Xmas shoppers. Sony MUST sale 500,000 in nov and 1,000,000 in Dec. or they will be facing some major issues moving into 08 without hitting those numbers over the holidays.

Now onto to today's press conference.

Infamous: 2008 looks good as well and looks to be a way to counter GTA's extran content on the 360 and just might be a great option that could work.

Killzone trailer looked awesome.

I would say that Sony did the best job at E3. I was impressed and trust that is very difficult for meto be impressed from anything Sony does as I have been so disappointed lately. However, Not any more as I am now equally excited (maybe 5 % points higher for the ps3).

The games that I want now include( for the PS3. I will give my best games pick in a later post for all 3 systems)

MGS (thank goodness it won't be out till next year. I will already be out over $1000 so good for me but not for the people who want this game now. I am downloading it right now on my ps3 via my PSP (love that feature) and from what I saw I turned into a little kid with excitement.

Heavenly Sword (I already was sold on this last year but it helped keep me wanting till sept.)

Lair (again already sold last year and will have it here within 4 weeks).

Drakes looks really good, but I am not 100% sold on it yet! I could end up renting it first.

Slimmer PSP with video out looks good, however, I'll keep my pre-existing psp but I will be getting that next star wars game as that looked good.

UT3 has tempted me to think of actually buying my 1st multi-plat game on the ps3. I am highly tempted. This will be placed on my Xmas list without which system to get it for with the hopes that someone says "oh here it is for the ps3" and I'm all good.

Haze looks good but seeing as I will have no time to play it this year I will wait till next year and get it on the 360.

Home looked pretty much what I expected which isn't a bad thing as it met expectations thus far.

As I have said Sony did the best job of all 3 followed by MS (which was boring as heck but they did have the games which saved what was a sleep fest) and Nintendo is last because I did not like hardly anything they presented except for the gun and the workout game as fitness is very important to me. Otherwise their conference was awful!

Now, bring on Q4 and let gaming begin!

Some people just don't have opinions. Like cjnwo4life.
cjnwo4life must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could cjnwo4life possibly have for not rating a single film?
