My brother recently got me into Mitch Hedburg. I had never heard of him or his comedy up to that point. I can't believe how I ever missed him. He is so hilarious and some of his jokes have almost literally brought me to tears. Mitch's style is quite different from other comedians. He kinda seems to just say whatever comes to mind, whether it really makes sense or not. Most of his jokes are short, one-liners that often play on words. You'll often find yourself thinking that he's very clever, or find yourself saying "Wow, I never looked at it that way!" He had heart problems and unfortunately a drug problem that eventually led to his death, right before his career could have taken off. It's too bad because I think Mitch's career was just getting started and he could've been one of comedy's all-time greats. Oh wait, maybe he is anyway.

To me, Paul Giamatti is an actor's actor. He has crossed many different genres such as comedy (Private Parts), mystery (Lady in the Water), drama (Cinderella Man) and others while exceeding expectations each time. He is a great character actor especially in such portrayals as Harvey Pekar in American Splendor and as Miles in Sideways. I feel these performances should have at least garnered him an Oscar nomination but sadly so far he has been snubbed. Not sure why, but he has many notable performances to garner recognition even from movie fans with high expectations. I look forward to many more films with Paul Giamatti and I am firm in the belief he will not let me down.

Scott Bakula is by far one of my favorite television stars. He's done a couple of movies but in my opinion he just doesn't shine like he does in television. He is the star of two of my favorite TV shows, Quantum Leap and Star Trek: Enterprise. Aside from always being impressed with his acting abilities, he is known for playing the consummate hero. In Quantum Leap, he leaps from person to person, setting right what once went wrong. As Sam he is always faced with tough decisions but he always does what's right. As Captain Jonathan Archer of the Starship Enterprise, he is also faced with tough decisions as he must decide what is best for his crew and how best to handle situations with other species. His characters are what women want, and what men want to be. With both of these great series at an end, I'd hate to not see him in television again. Come back Scott Bakula and kick some more butt.

The only exposure I have had to Jolene Blalock so far is her appearance on one of my favorite shows "ST: Enterprise", as the Vulcan Science Officer T'Pol. It's hard for me to determine her acting range as her performance is required to be stale as the emotionless Vulcan, driven by logic. Although I can't get a great sense of how she would perform in other shows, or maybe even other genres, I would LOVE to see her in more. I have a lot of faith in her abilities as an actress and the mere fact that she is eye candy doesn't hurt either.
