Any one ever see Orangutan Island on the Animal Planet. I have watched every episode that has aired ever since it came on. I have been very interested in these red haired guys for such a long time.
I remember a time that Julia Roberts went to Bornio in the summer of 1998 or '99. She helped in the rescue on an orangutan and met some of the care takers or foster parents. One of the most things that I remember is one of the older orangutans giving Julia a big hug. They had mentioned to her that he might pull her in and that's exactly what he did. Julia was very calm at the time and I believe she also gave the Orang a hug in return but the teknisi, I guess you could call them, were getting worried so they pulled him off of her. Then you could tell how scared julia was after that. that had always impressed me with her.
On to Orangutan Island which starts with Forest School 103 at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Rescue and Rehabilitaion Center which is run by Lone Droscher-Nielsen. Orangutan Island is the foundation for the largest primate rescue project in the world.
The amazing thing about these intelligent apes is that they share 97 percent of out DNA which make them our closest relatives.
Check your local listing to find out when this show comes on because ifyou ever get the chance to watch these guys, you'll be as fascinated in them as much as I am. If you do watch, how can you not be interested in what Cha Cha or Daisy let alone Chen Chen or Hamlet are up too.
Well I'm very interested in how this summer goes. Not only for TV shows that I watch but also with the Olympics. I can't wait for them. I'm hoping that I'll be able to go to a couple concerts this year esp. Stevie Nicks. I got to see her a couple summers ago with Fleetwood Mac and then again by herself. What an awesome concert.
I can say that I started the summer off with a bang. I was able to see Carrie Underwood with Josh Turner and then Sugarland with Little Big Town. They were both great shows but the later one was the best because they interacted with the crowd and Jennifer and Christian came out in plastic balls and surfed the crowd. How awesome is that.
As for tv this summer, Well besides the Olympics, I'm anxiously awaiting for the new season of The Closer. I love this show and Kyra Sedgwick is just awesome as Brenda.
So far since the strike has ended, I've been able to enjoy most of the shws that I watch. Granted I'm not happy that they keep moving things around with the days but as long as it is on, I don't care.
Monday's have turned out to be a good night. Bones is back. I can't say how long it's going to stay on that night. I love the interaction with Brennen and Booth. I was against the writer's putting them together as a couple to start with but it has turned out to be pretty interesting. As long as they don't go overboard with it, I'll be happy.
Tuesday's are somewhat busy. First up is American Idol which is proving to be a bad season. Granted it started out great and now it's just turned into a frickin' popularity contest. I mean they've already voted off some of the best singers and kept some really bad ones. Needless to say, I think it doesn't matter if you try and vote for your favorites, it won't happen because all the kids and wanna be girl/boyfriends want the young, dopey-eyed, can't sing singers in it. So I'm just waiting for another "Tragic" upset. It happened a couple years ago and it's going to happen again.
Hell's Kitchen is turning out to be one of my favorite shows. At least it cheers me up. I mean I love listening to Gordon cuss out the so called wanna be chefs. How kewl is that.
Work Out is another one of my shows that I love to watch. Not only because Jacki and I are soul states. We come from the same state. She grew up less than 60 miles from me. How kewl is that. I love watching her and the drama that is going on on the show. And plus there are HOT people on the show.
Shark has yet again moved. I don't think that it may stay on the schedule for long if they keep moving it around. First it was on Thursdays, then it moved to Sunday's and then went back to Thursday's and now it's on Tuesday's. I hope they decide to keep it a day that it doesn't get over loaded by other shows and people are going to tune out because they don't know where it's at anymore.
Wednesday's slow down. AI results come on. But they should just do it in about 5 minutes instead of using up an hours time to talk about nothing.
I believe So You Think You Can Dance is suppose to come on this night too. I know it comes on after the final episode of AI. It looks like it's going to be a good season this year. I always love the beginning of the tryouts. Just to see all the people who think they can dance but can't. It's so heartbreaking. yeah right. it's hilarious.
Top Chef is another good show to watch this night. Got hooked after the first season repeats. Just gotta love the chefs yelling and griping at each other.
Thursday's is my favorite night of nights. First up is Survivor. How many other reality tv shows do you know out there that strand people on an island where they have to fend for themselves, starve and walk around half naked. And then get a million dollars afterward for outlasting, outwitting and out play.
CSI: Crime Scene Investigations The one and only. I've watched from day one and nothing is going to stop me from watching it. I mean I've tried watching the other spinoffs but I can't get into them like the original.
If I get the chance, I'll watch Without a Trace I wish they would do another crossover with CSI. That was awesome when they did it.
Friday comes around and if I"m not out doing something, I'll watch The Ghost Whisperer and when the new seasons of Flash Gordon and Psyche come back on, that'll be a good night to watch.
Saturday is usually the movie of the week night or catch up with shows that I taped and didn't get to watch. Or it's just a day to go out and enjoy the day and do something to get out of the house.
Sunday I usually watch Cold Case because there really isn't anything else that is on or again watch the movie of the week.
Usually during the week days, I like to watch in the mornings Angel, Charmed, The Nanny, The Golden Girls, Tom & Jerry. Around noon it's A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, What's New Scooby-Doo?, a toss up between As The World Turns and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. Just depends on what ATWT is like. If it's boring hello STW. Orangutan Island my favorite new show. Just gotta love these furry, cuddly little ones.
Once the afternoon comes around, Golden Girls comes around, then Charmed and then Reba. Gotta watch The Simpsons and then it comes to the regular shows for the week. Once the night shows are over, I tune into Anderson Cooper 360 to see what kind of interesting news that is giong on in the world. Just have to watch Will & Grace to see what new things Will, Grace, Karen & Jack are up too. After that I watch the first bits of Robot Chicken. How can anyone not like them making fun of the old school cartoons along with things that are happening cureently? It's so hilarious. Then I tune into watch Frasier, then The Golden Girls and the Nanny. That's if I don't fall asleep before then.
Well I was enjoying the shows this season until the writers strike. Luckily it has ended for the time being and hopefully it won't happen again. This strike really damaged this season's shows.
I've been busy working lately on Make Me a Supermodel and gained editorship of that. And I have been watching The Facts of Life a lot lately. I haven't seen some of those episodes in a long time and it has been fun rewatching them.
As for the shows, here's a breakdown of them
Anderson Cooper 360 episodes are current up to the end of the next month. Seasons 2, 3 & 4 are coming around slowly. It's just time consuming making the back episodes and making sure that all the episodes are in sync with all the other ones.
Charlie's Angels is at a stand still for the moment until Season 4 comes out on DVD. That's if it comes out. Just watching them on tape and getting quotes wrote down.
Jem is coming around. I've been able to get a couple more episodes completed. What great memories rewatching them. I'll be able to get everything that is on DVD and then when it comes up to the 3rd season, I'll have to get the tapes out from my sister. Thankfully, when it was on USA, she taped them.
Batman is also coming along ok. Glad I was able to find the whole series on DVD. Granted I'm not going to know if everything iscorrect with the guide untilIgo through it all.
GI Joe has been at a stand still of late. I'm really anxious about the upcoming movie that is coming up. Can't wait. I'll be getting the episodes back up and going here shortly.
American Gladiators is pretty much done except for some quotes, notes and trivia to be added here and there.
