I saw that post when I visited the Ask The Mods forum the other day, I thought then, and still think, that it is very unfair, especially for Biggest_loser. Anyway, I'm glad you are back.

I would like to say the majority of moderators on this site are good or even ok. But it's not the case, quite a few are in my opinion closer to terrible, but there are good ones.

The problem is however I don't think their task is easy or quick. I bet they deal with quite a lot of crap, so sometimes they make mistakes I guess. I was thinking about applying but I do not have the time nor the patience to moderate a forum of hooligans.

I guess in their defense I rarely report people or threads, but most of the time my report is acted on.

If he only said that, then why bother? Thats just his opinion. He is allowed to say that if he thought that.

Personally, I thought the cloaking in the nano suit was cool but done pretty bad in the game.

I agree with Fari ...thanks to my bad english and not knowing what 50% of the gamer`s expressions mean (like facepalming as well ) i rarely get moded ...well, to be more precise ...never ...except maybe at my first few days when i created account here coz i was quite amazed by the stupidity of the kids on forum(s) ...now i barely have time (and nerves) to argue with anyone on forums.

welcome back and facepalms should be allowed if the situation allows it but on the other hand it could become an annoying fad like the do a barrel roll and touch her shoulder

Welcome back! Sorry to hear you got suspended though. I usually stay off the forums so that's probably why I never run into stuff like this. I think GameSpot has a more heavy handed moderation style these days, unfortunately.

@nutcrackr: What happened here is not a reflection on the other mods, but there are few who like to show they are the mods and we are not. I guess this guy is one such person.

It would be good to have you as a mod for the PC gaming section, but I suppose you are right, it will be a complete time sink for you.

Well, the comment just sounded so idiotic to me, especially because I thought the exact opposite. I am not denying his right to say it, all I am saying just don't deny my right to disagree, which is what the mod did. I suppose on can argue that my actions were not completely polite, and its probably true. Either way, I wouldn't change it, I'd rather be suspended with the satisfaction of having pissed off someone because I am right.

The nano suit was great, but I don't know how its done bad - as far as I can recollect, no other game did it any better.

@shiben: You know what? I don't know why I play older games. Probably because I don't have money to buy the new ones. I spent it all on the PC and I have no money to buy games for it! I am going to pick up Crysis Maximum Edition soon - its still a 2 year old game though.

You got suspended for "facepalm" . Hmmm that's not a real reason to get suspended, at least not for me :S. I have never been suspended here on GS. probably 'cos I don't talk with many ppl. Anyway, it's good to see that you're back!

Huh why one should get suspended for that? It doesn't seem insulting to me. Some people have told me unimaginable stuff here in GS and I don't dream of reporting them. After all we are grown ups, or at least many of us are grown up!

my frnds also keep bugging me that y do i play stupid ps2 games when i hav a ps3, but then a good game is a good game, whichever platform it came in or whenever it released

now a days i actually prefer to not have any money for games ....really makes me appreciate the ones that i have(i can buy them pirated but i just dont, never have never will ) right now playing escape from monkey island which is great since i played this game years ago when it was released so i dont remember much from it . Its like playing it for the first time just a little less frustrating

I've been a member for 5 years now. When I first joined, it was like the wild west...I was amazed by what people got away with on this site. Then the moderators started clamping down, and they cleared out the worst offenders. But now, it seems to me that they (or at least some of them) have gone too far in the other direction. I agree with nutcrackr that the majority of the moderations I've seen are ok, but there seems to be an increasing number of events like yours. Personally, I think a lot of GS mods have gotten a little over-zealous in their efforts to make everything all nicey-nice. A little spirited debate with some snide remarks on occasion keeps things interesting. It's like they're following the LETTER of the law, rather than the SPIRIT of the law. I wish they ease up a little...this would be a pretty boring place without the occasional smart-ass comment. (Oops...I'll probably get modded for saying "ass" )

Im feel sorry for you and it's great of you to stand up to those Mods. I don't really like the Mods on Gamespot nowadays, friends of mine here have left because of them and personally swearing and around that verbal language is acceptable but that was just wrong.

Hey man, I've been there, and I commend you for pointing out their stupidity from time to time. These mods need to lighten up.

The moderations and banning on this site is out of control. Some folks get moderate for doing really nothing, or other people will get banned for really minor stuff that could be fixed or changed. example to Kozzy420.

@angelkadaj: Yes, it seemed very strange to me. Of course, I did not get suspended because I said facepalm, but I got moderated for it. Someone said, they thought about saying it as well, and he got moderated for it. So I told the just how dumb that was, and he suspended me. I lost a level too, but it really doesn't matter does? Levels are like Bart bucks.

@khatibi22: I am glad you think so I was susprised someone took it so seriously in the first place!

@shiben: I haven't always been playing old games. I just finished Call of Duty 4, which is not very old. I want to play Prince of Persia 2008 though. I love the cell shaded graphics and a PoP game without the frustration is too tempting!

@pindropviolence: There are two things wrong with buying pirated content. One, is of course piracy. Two, someone is making money off someone else's work, you are just better off pirating the game yourself instead of paying someone for it. That's really wrong in my opinion.

Monkey Island is something I want to play...

@ziegd: You are right. GameSpot has become very conservate and uptight about some of the issues. I realize that the mods have a lot on their hands, but to this sounded way too silly for me. You couldn't have put it better. Thy are following the letter of the law than the spirit.

And what's with all the decreasing level? What difference is that going to make? Sure, I like to keep a track sometimes, but I don't really care for it at all. Is that supposed to make me feel bad?

@SGTiD1NG0: Yes, the mods can be that way sometimes, but I am not going to leave GameSpot for that. I like this community.

@Lexxzilla: The mods really need to lighten up. Its not like I used profanity.

@Jd1680a: I know a few of my friends who got banned. That is very unfortunate, but I don't think that really happens unless someone breaks a very serious rule, such as posting warez and such.

never knew something like that could lead to ban, I mean, a facepalm doesn't mean your actually hitting any one It's unfair you got banned for that Then again, GS's modsare strict, even the wikipedia page says so
