As some of you from my Unions may already know, Last Monday my wife and my oldest daughter and I went to Tampa to see Celtic Thunder. You can get a little more info on them here. They do a mix of traditional Irish songs along with more recent music. Now understand I'm really more of a hard rock - metal fan so usually this wouldn't be something I'd be interested in but when my wife convinced me to check out their DVD I was very impressed. They put on a great show, very entertaining and we had great seats as well, very close to the stage. Needless to say they have most of their songs on youtube as well, check out "Heartland" if you get a chance.

The other news is that yesterday was my birthday. It worked out well since I was going to take the day off of work anyways because I'd be coming home late Monday night from the concert. So I basically slept in and spent the day being a couch potato and playing videogames - a perfect day Been mostly playing Fallout 3, have put in around 25 hours so far. Definitely feel that any opinions you may have towards Oblivion will apply towards Fallout as well. Certainly some differences but the basic gameplay has many similarities, which is OK by me

Happy Birthday!!

That how I'd love to spend my birthday too, so it's all good. How's Fallout 3? I've heard some mixed reviews of it, and not sure if I want to pick it up for not.

Happy birthday dahling!

Happy belated birthday.

THanks everyone for your Bday wishes

REGAMER-X - I'll still stick with the "if you like Oblivion" thought. If you enjoyed that then I'm pretty sure you'll like Fallout. It's great exploring the American wasteland fighting mutants!

BigBoss - I'm sure you'll like Fallout but there are so many great maes out right now I don't blame you for waiting.

Inditra - I didn't know you had Irish, Looking at your username I thought you might be from India! Both my wife and I have alot of Irish blood in us and are proud of our Celtic heritage. Hope you get a chance to check them out on Youtube, great music!

Happy B-day, and Fallout 3 is amazing! You better get the Alien Blaster and A3-21's Plasma Rifle!

MsCortana - Thanks, though I don't look forward to Bdays as much as I used to

Marksman - Those weapons sound intriguing, will keep an eye out for them!

happy birthday you Scorpio

Glad you liked the concert sounds like it was a lot of fun. I have Fallout 3, but haven't cracked it open yet. I've been too busy playing Gears 2 and Call of Duty World at War.

I just bought myself a new gaming chair so I'm gonna play for the rest of the day. taking a break from the house hunting...I'm still looking.

I've always found something soothing about traditional Celtic music. Sounds like I might enjoy them.

Oh, and Happy B-Day, once again!

phoenyx9 - CT was great, would recommend it to anyone that apreciates music (hint, hint) I understand about Fallout, there's just so many great games to play right now! That gaming chair sounds nice and as always best of luck with the housing situation

N8A - Thanks, the show was great!

Garrison_Ford - Thanks, we've got a lot of November Bdays around here!

I'm glad you found time for a blog. *I can't talk since I've yet to do one*
Again, I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday! I haven't played Oblivion, but I did enjoy Morrowind. Any game you enjoy is a good way to spend a day off!

Glad you enjoyed the concert, and happy birthday Dave. I've been putting Fallout 3 on hold since I recently got Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet (and I'll be getting Gears of War 2 soon), but I'm definitely going back to it over Thanksgiving break. I agree about the Oblivion comparison, but I loved that game, so it's fine by me too.

Happy birthday Dave. Sleeping in and spending the day on the couch playing videogames sounds like the perfect day to me too.

Happy B-day Celtic.

Happy birthday my friend
Amazing concert, a mix of traditional music along with recent music it'll be a great outcome regardless from which country this music comes from .

Glad you had a good time Dave! Your love of Oblivion: Post-apocalyptic Edition...I mean Fallout 3 still disturbs me. We used to be on the same track. Where did we go wrong? Shadow Hearts? Lost Odyssey? *starts to mumble a list of other games*

Sounds like you spent your Birthday well. Doing what you want to do. Happy Birthday!

Randy - You probably will like Celtic Thunder, though interestingly enough they mix in some classic rock songs like Desperado, Nights in White Satin and a few others and they cover them quite well.

ProtegeRuckus - Thanks, this seems to be a popular time of the year for Birthdays!

nftw - Yeah, I've got to do a better job with posting blogs

hintaki & Anthony - Understandable as now there are so many great games to play all at once! But when you get the chance to spend some time with Fallout you'll enjoy it

Jude - Yeah, if I could win the lottery I could do that every day

Darren - Thanks, though now they seem to come faster then when I was younger

A belated Happy Birthday , I personally think Fallout 3 actually fixes many of Oblivions greatest flaws though.

Oh and I'll check out Heartland, my family are Irish!
Posted Nov 14, 2008 1:49 pm PT
Happy birthday, albeit several days late. Glad your enjoying Fallout 3, I'm just trying to get to level 20 now.
Posted Nov 14, 2008 4:36 pm PT
Ron - Thanks, it was nice relaxing day. You should give Fallout 3 a chance, the combat issue really isn't an issue, and there's nothing quite like blowing someone's head off in a massive spray of gore

Michelle - I agree, Fallout 3 does play better than Oblivion, great game! I hope you enjoy Heartland, My wife and I are both of Irish descent and proud of it

Steve - Thanks, I think I'm just over level 15 right now.
