I got to meet Majel Barrett on a Trek cruise a number of years ago. She was absolutely wonderful. Very down to earth and very appreciative of fans. She had a wonderful sense of humor and told great "behind the scenes" stories about working on Star Trek.

Number One, Nurse Chapel, Star Fleet computer voice... You will be missed.

Honestly, I never did care for her very much. I don't know what it is about her, but she just never clicked for me. To me, her best role would be Deanna's mother... I can still hear and emphatically agree with Captain Picard saying "My dear Lwaxana, nothing would please me more than to be able to give you away...". How I wished they would have given her away completely! But I do sympathize with the family. I know the loss of loved ones is never easy.

Hi Cdrak, I enjoyed her work, I thought her subtleness was brilliant. What a great legacy to leave behind. RIP.

I'm glad she lived long and prospered. Condolences to her family and all the Star Trek fans of the world.

Actually, I forgot to include Lwaxana in my list. I liked Lwaxana. In a way, she was like Majel with the volume turned waaaay up. It's fine if she never clicked for you Parsec54. I think you would have really liked her if you'd met her. I was really impressed with how down-to-earth she was in a business where people aren't always in touch with the planet.
