"Shrimps and eels roam their ponds and puddles
But know nothing of the great waters of rivers and seas.
Small birds hop on the twigs of hedges
But how can they know where the wild geese wander.
In worldly affairs it truly is clear
That those with great virtue are few"

Wow, I don't usually blog like this; I like to wait a week or so, but I just have to this time. I watched .hack//G.U. Trilogy last night. I downloaded a shoddy version off youtube, and stuck it on a dvd, watching it at 2am on my full screen hd tv. The picture was terrible, it was out of sync, and the subs were done by a blind monkey. It was the best movie I have ever seen. I have so much trouble deciding on favourite movies, and I've never had a clear, defined 'favourite' before (Spirited Away and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind come very close), but this film was just beautiful.

It had everything right about it. The music was great, and it had fight scenes! Oh my god did it had fight scenes!! The story was amazing, and so emotional, I was on the verge of tears throughout the whole thing.

I felt almost criminal making an amv of this movie, but I balanced it out by choosing one of the most beautiful songs i know (ffx theme is the most beautiful, but i refuse to listen to it; makes me cry). anyway, enjoy Haseo - Requiem for a Dream.

Oh, level 15 too ^^ seems like a milestone, so:

*spoiler warning

i did say that the .hack series has been on my list for a long time, and i decided to take it off my list. the .hack francise is huge, with 7 games, 3 anime series' and manga and novels. still, undetered I took the plunge and began to watch .hack//Roots, the final anime series, and the prelude to the G.U. games. I'm happy to say I finished the entire series (bar the one audio-episode) in 2 days, which beat my previous record of 3 days for gurren lagann.

its a great anime, and i enjoyed it immensely. all the characters were great, except Taby and Sakisaka, but hey, every show has characters that you hate; Bleach had Orihime and Chad, and Chobits had Chi. The ending was perfect, and it was really emotional.

Haseo is great. Before you watch it, you think hes gonna be the badass antagonist, then you realise hes the good guy, then he turns into the dark anti-hero . wub.

the only gripes i have with the show are: the music, and the fighting. Its not that the music isnt good, its just they looped the same 2 songs throught all 26 episodes, and the really dramatic scenes sounded exactly the same as the boring, dull scenes. And there was just a complete lack of fighting throughout the series. everytime there was a fight, it lasted for 10 seconds and then cut to Taby doing abseloutly nothing. the last fight of the series, the epic encounter between Haseo and Tri-Edge, which had been built up to for a dozen episodes, went as follows:

  • tri edge appears
  • hasoe attacks
  • tri edge dodges
  • a bit of jumping
  • they clash swords
  • haseo gets thrown backwards
  • haseo dissapears
  • fight ends

that was not the climatic fight i was hoping for.

anyway, im going to watch the movie tonight (haha, no 100 hours wasted on the G.U. games), and then the epilogue OVA. then im gonna get stuck right into .hack//SIGN.

i knocked up a quick roots amv. i finally learned how to embedd! Its [video=(end of url)]. please enjoy, though it isnt one of my best.

good night all [:

Some people just don't have opinions. Like c4stigator.
c4stigator must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could c4stigator possibly have for not rating a single film?
