Im still here if anyone was wondering. I left because of the whole Gerstmann senario but im back on gamespot on and off now just checking out some forums/reviews and stuff.
Well I've pretty much finished reading up on all the new info from E3 this year and have actually found it really good. I like the smaller venue and even though in my opinion there hasn't really been as much exciting info as other E3's i have still found all the new info to be great.
First off Microsoft, no new info got me back into my Xbox 360 again to be honest with the only exciting game in my opinion being Call of Duty 4 which looks amazing. As I'm a big fan of the Call of Duty series and Battlefield 2 Modern Combat, Call of duty 4 looks just plain perfect for me. I love the night vision, i love the new modern era and i really love the graphics. No other games really appealed to me except for maybe Ace Combat 6 which looks interesting but i think i prefer Warhwak which i will talk about in a second.
Next is Nintendo who from this E3 i think have really lost the plot. Instead of making games they're just making toys now. I mean That Wii Fit thing? what the hell is that? some weird wireless scales that sense how your balancing. The thing is hygiene, with everyone putting their bare feel and shoes on that thing it's seriously gonna get pretty rough, plus feet is just not the way to go Nintendo, stick with the hands. Thats just my opinion anyway, i do like Nintendo and i really love my DS lite but i think they're really going a bit crazy.
Finally Sony. Well well well i was very surprised. As an owner of a 60gb PS3, Sony's E3 this year was going to be pretty important for me as most of the games out now suck and I'm just using it as a real nice DVD player as it up-scales all DVDs to an HD resolution making them look amazing. I watched the press conference and was pleased. The games I'm definitely going to get are Warhawk, LittleBigPlanet and Colin McRae: DiRT. First Warhawk, when it was on On the Spot i was pretty amazed by how they have also really focused on the ground part of the game and not just the flying. I didn't actually know you could go around in 3rd person and jump in tanks, jeeps, and just shoot dudes. So knowing this and knowing that i could fly around in crazy 'warhawks' as well made me really love this game and the graphics are pretty amazing too. Its online only from what I've read which is still awesome but it would have been nice to have some offline with bots and stuff. The other great thing about it is that for £39.99 you get the game and a free bluetooth headset which you can use to talk online which is very handy. The next game I'm definitely going to get is LittleBigPlanet. Just from the new trailer and the stage demo on Gamespot's live E3 coverage it looks just plain fun and also having online co-op and being able to build a giant level with crazy physics with your mate seems awesome. Then there's Colin McRae: DiRT, basically it looks better than the Xbox 360 version graphically and the trailer looks just amazing and they've had more time to work on it than the 360 version so it hopefully shouldn't disappoint. The last thing I'm really glad about is that there's no price drop for the PS3 here in the UK and also that the 80gb model is not being released as the PS3 is selling well in Europe and there is no need for a price drop or a new model being introduced. It's just nice to know i have the best model.
So there's my E3 2007 round up. Basically Sony wins, Microsoft did ok and Nintendo are being taken away by the men in white coats.
I just thought I'd update this thing to let everyone know what I'm up to.
Well to start off my 17th birthday was on the 1st June and i got a nice Ford Fiesta 4 door which is lush, the only problem was they lost the logbook for it and had to send off for a new one. They then sent the wrong amount on a check and had to sent another. So its taken about a month but finally they rang this week and said my car should be ready anytime now. So this means when i eventually do get it i can start practising with my dad and just get the feel of driving, then I'll get lessons and stuff.
Come September and I'll be starting college again. I quit before Christmas as the course i was doing really sucked and i had enough of it. So since i left I've pretty much been working at my Dads music shop a couple times a week which has actually been pretty good fun, i get a bit of money which is always handy and its a nice working environment. The only problem is i have too much free time on my hands, and now that I'm at a stage where I'm not into gaming much and its been raining for about 3weeks non stop i really have nothing to do. I normally go out and play football and stuff a couple times a week but now its raining I'm just stuck at home. So I'm just trying to get back into gaming which is pretty hard when the online in Call of Duty 3 and most games is only fun when your used to the game and as i haven't been gaming in months its hard as hell.
And finally Space.. well what i meant was making space in my room. I love tidying you see, which means anything i see untidy in my room i make a real job out of it. What I've done at the moment is move my old Sony Hi-Fi and put it away so now i have a nice clear space on the chest it was on, which is good as i can sit on it and it makes my room look more spacious. Ok so that wasn't very exciting but having 'Space' in the title does look pretty cool huh? oh who am i kidding, no one reads this thing anyways ![]()
So there's just an update on whats going on at the moment.
