Hello

Hey Peepsies! Long time no blog! I hope everyone is well. Haven't been in a "computer mood" lately, but that's changing as of now.

It's official, the crappy US economy has hit my household. Last month at work I was cut down to "part time staus". We're only allowed to have one full time person in our department and out of the 2 full timers, I have the least seniority. It's not going to affect my hours during peak season, I' still get 40+ in the Spring and Summer, and through Fall and Winter my hours are cut by "one day", 8 hours. I no longer have health benefits, vacation, time or accumulate sick time. My husband can pick up the health benefits, open enrollment is next month, and I hardly ever take any sick time, I always get a buyout in the spring. And I actually lost 2 vacation days last year because I never go on vacation. So, in reality, no biggie. Good thing- I got a buy out on my 2 weeks vacation and 104 hours accumilated sick time in my last pay. I put a little in the bank and was able to get some extra fall clothing for the boys and get their Halloween costumes. They're going to be characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

I've been looking around for a part time job, but I really only want about 5-10 hours a week through the winter. So, we'll see how it goes. I also applied for partial unemployment benefits. If I get approved for that, that may work out better for me. Wish me luck. This past weekend, Evan and Tyler went to Lancaster, Pa. It was a belated Birthday gift from my In-Laws. They had a lot of fun, seems like the boys had more fun at the hotel than anywhere else. But they came home sick. So they've been out of school for the past two days. Looks like it's just a nasty cold. Lots of coughing and a bit of a fever. Evan is definately feeling much better than Tyler. He's been quite hyper today. Tyler is a bit slower to recover.

Today is Jodie's (winterbehaviour) Birthday! She's a really sweet gal and I'm so glad to have been able to meet her through TV.com.

TV

Lots of great TV to lift my spirits up.

On Dancing With the Stars- Injuries and illness. And three more couples have been eliminated, not all by voting.

DWTS

In week 3, two couples left. One by viewer votes and another from injury. Debi Mazar and Maks Cmerkovsky were the couple eliminated. Maks is one of my favorite pros and I'm very sad to see him leave the competition. I had high hopes for the couple. A bit of good news though, due to Derek Hough's illness, Maks filled in and performed last night with model Joanna Krupa. Considering they only had 2 days to train with each other, they did extremely well. They probably would have had close to perfect scores if it weren't for a stumble near the end of the performance. If it weren't for Maks being such a great performer and Joanna being one of the stronger celebs, it could have turned out much worse. Maks and Joanna made a great recovery and garnered very respectable scores. Suring the week 3 results show, Tom DeLay decided to drop out of the competition due to injury. He had been competing with stress fractures in both of his feet. As much as I didn't want to like Tom, he did very well and was very likable. He had a great charm and was matched very well with Cheryl. I was actually dissapointed to hear he was dropping out, but glad he will be able to heal properly. PS. Debi made a guest star appearance on last night's episode of Castle. Nathan and Stana were also in the audience for last night's perfomances.

debi mazar tom delay

In week 4 I had a bit of a scare. My favorite and pre-season pick, Aaron Carter was in the bottom two and was almost eliminated. He had a sub par week and his Lambada was all over the place. Thankfully he took the judges advice and last night his Argentine Tango was spot on and one of my favorite dances of the night.. The couple that was eliminated last week was Chuck Liddell and Anna Trebunskaya. I was a little disappointed because I thought there were one or two couples who had worse performances. Anna is a great dancer and I love the way she performs the Argentine Tango and would have loved to see her dance last night.

chuck liddell

house

I am absolutely loving House this season! I love that the old team is back! House, Foreman, Cameron and Chase hae incredible chemistry and work great together. Aside from that, I really can't describe all that is making me adore this show again. It's undescribable. Jennifer Morrison(Cameron) will be leaving temporarily, this was a creative decision and not permanent. (According to TVGuide). Olivia Wilde(Thirteen) is still slated to remain in a recurring role as well.

spn club

If you haven't already done so, don't forget to visit the Second Supernatural Club Meeting in Shane's (charmed1102) blog.

And speaking of Supernatural, how awesome were the last two episodes? I think I heard the collective cheers of Supernatural fans everywhere when Sam chopped off Paris Hilton's head. I was a bit nervous before watching last week's episode because it could have been a rehash of season 3's Bedtime Stories. But I should know better than to doubt Eric Kripke. The mainifestation of all those wive's tales were hilarious, expecially Dean's little problem. And the Castiel action figure was so cool. I want one! Repeat this week New epi next week

Now to the explanation of the blog title. Thanks to Ela and Daria, I'm got a bit of an obsession with Callum Keith Rennie. If you're a member of the W.E.N.T.H.W.O.R.T.H.M Club, Daria has nominated CKR to be the next Man of the Month. Here's the link to Penny's blog

Ela and Daria have also started a campaign to increase CKR's person score here on TV.com. If you are familiar with his work, Callum has appeared on Battlestar Galatica, Harper's Island, S3-4 of Due South, Californication and is slated to appear in Day 10 of 24, please rate/review him. He is also rumoured to possibly guest star in this season of Dollhouse.

I've made a bunch of CKR icons. -

ckr 1 ckr 2 ckr 3 ckr 4 ckr 5

ckr 6 ckr 7 ckr 8 ckr 9 ckr 10

californication

And speaking of CAlifornication, I've begun watching this show. Can you guess why? If you guessed because of Callum Keith Rennie in the role of Lew Ashby, you guessed right! It's pretty good show. Very funny and quite kinky. It makes me blush a lot

I made a few Misha icons as well, just for Jodie, the birthday girl.

I recently leved up, level 17, the Crazy Neighbor. That's a reference to Kramer, the crazy neighbor on the American comedy Seinfeld. I also surpassed 2,000 forum posts. I'll catch up on all of your blogs this week. This weekend my hubby is going to be remodeling the living room and kitchen. I'll take some pictures of the before, during and after. I'm off to east some dinner and watch TV. Have a great week!

Later peepsies!

see ya later

Hello Emiko I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve been cut down to part time, even if it doesn’t turn out as a big deal. Still it’s really scary to realize how this darn recession time is reaching us all sooner or later. I can’t tell things have changed for me although the sells in my company have decreased a lot.
I bet your boys are gonna look great in their Star Wars costumes! Hope they recover in no time.
Good luck getting partial unemployment benefits, those should make a difference indeed. Happy bday to Jodie, I’ll have some pie to wish her a great day. And congrats on levelling up! Happy remodelling and have a great week you too. Huge hugs

That really sucks. I hope you get the partial unemployment benefits! Sorry to hear your boys came home sick. I hope they get well. Happy Birthday to Jodie! Congrats on level 17 and 2000 forum posts!

Supernatural is going great this season. I'm having to watch it online, so I'm about a week behind, but I love it anyway.

Emiko, sweet Emiko!!! hi hi hi!! I'm just passing through but wanted to stop off for a ****hug***
Posted Oct 20, 2009 8:35 pm PT
sorry to hear that you have been cut down to part time status at your job, and that you have lost your health benefits, that really sucks. And i hope your boys get well soon...

I knew exactly what that title ment before I even got to the part where you explained it Yay you blogged!! Hope Evan and Tyler are fully recovered soon and will have an awesome Halloween Good luck on finding a part time job. Happy birthday to Jodie! House has been so awesome this season I'm loving it too!! I didn't know Jennifer will be back that's great news!! Supernatural has been awesome & what??? No new episode this week Callum is in the lead this month, YAY!!! I may watch the whole season of 24 for Callum How are you liking Californication? lol at it making you blush. It just makes me die of hotness a lot, especially season 2. Congrats on the new level and 2000 forum posts!! Hope you have an awesome week too!
Posted Oct 21, 2009 4:34 am PT
Good to hear from you, Emiko!! Love your new head-tilt-CKR icon. There is a brilliant youtube clip appreciating the Leoben head tilt... lol.. Too spoilery for you so far, I hope I'll remember showing you after your BSG watchage. Speaking of crazies, he?

I am sorry to hear about your work situation. I hope you'll find a part time thing or that benefit thingy works out. I imagine that has been a source of some hassle lately. And the boys are sick on top? Damn, hope they'll get better soon or are a little better already.
Posted Oct 21, 2009 7:01 am PT
Happy Birthday, Jodie!!
Posted Oct 21, 2009 7:01 am PT
Nice Misha pics that you put together. This gif is so steamy. The Castiel action figure, hehehe. Isn't that great, CKR got so many votes. I am psyched. He is 8.3 already - Woohoo! I LOVE the laughing Leoben icon, he should laugh more often. And his voice in Bionic woman? *swoon* Glad you didn't give up on Californication by now. I think it gets better by the end of the season. The most blushy stuff is in the first few episodes. Lew rules! There are so many scenes with him that I love and I hope you will too.

Congrats on the Level and the posts! Do you know I never really saw Seinfeld... What huge pop-cultural neglect on my part. Take care!! And good luck for you.

Hey Emiko, good to hear from ya That sucks about being put down to p/t, although I'm glad you'tr still getting solid hours. Poor boys, I hope they get better soon =) Chicken soup Seriously, it's impossible to keep away from that guy Castiel, he's in everyones blog lately, haha. Funny guy! I really have to start watching Californication, it always sounds like my kind of show
Posted Oct 21, 2009 10:01 am PT
Hi Emiko!! Missed ya! I've been in and out, but out mostly, because work takes up most of my time these days, which I'm glad. Sorry to hear that your status has changed to part-time, and sorry to hear that your boys are sick, at least it's just a cold, and nothing too severe. Hopefully things will pick up for you soon, and you'll find something, I'm sure of it! Have a great day and a great weekend too!

Karla: *throws confetti* And you're first!
Posted Oct 21, 2009 12:11 pm PT
Esther: I'm actually enjoying fewer hours for the time being. I get to spend some extra time with the boys. It's been slow for a while now and it was bound to affect our payroll eventually. My husband makes a good living so we'll survive one way or the other. Thanks for your good thoughts. The boys are excited for Halloween and are counting the days. I plan on staying far away from the mess in my house LOL *throws confetti*
Posted Oct 21, 2009 12:19 pm PT
Jon: I'll have to wait and see, I'll figure something out. It's not too bad. Evan is feeling much better and went back to school today. Hopefully Tyler will go back tomorrow. Yay for Jodie! Thanks!
Posted Oct 21, 2009 12:20 pm PT
Jennifer: I hope I didn't spoil you much. Have a great week!
Posted Oct 21, 2009 12:22 pm PT
My most favoritist Shazzie: Thanks for stopping by *squishy hugs*
Posted Oct 21, 2009 12:26 pm PT
Trine: I'm keeping my spirits up and am greateful that I still have a good job. My hours will increase in the spring and summer when it gets busier. My hubby can pick up the health benefits too. The boys are on the road to recovery, Evan went back to school today.
Posted Oct 21, 2009 12:28 pm PT
Daria: I figured you would know, hehehe. Evan went back to school today; Tyler is taking longer to recover but is feeling a lil better. *tosses confetti in celebration* I think I read it in the last TVGuide about Jennifer/Cameron leaving just temporarily. Made me very happy. I know, sucks about SPN repeat this week. CKR FTW!! I believe he will play a villian, which I think is perfect for him. Definately liking Cali, I will probably watch a few epis tomorrow when the kids are in school. Thanks!
Posted Oct 21, 2009 12:33 pm PT
Well yes you would think the villain was perfect when you've seen so little of his filmography, after a while you just want him to do something new already, you know and maybe try not to kill or rape someone...But yeah that might be too much to ask The worst part is that he always dies or gets arrested though Poor baby. Nice ot hear Evan felt good enough to go back to school and that Tyler will join his real soon *throws some more confetti* *does the Ray dance* that's my new happy dance, the one Ray (callum's character in Due South) keeps doing, thanks to Ela Not a show to watch when your kids are home It's nice to hear that you're liking Cali! Are you used to all the weirdness or dirtiness yet? I'm not Runkle is just too weird How far along are you? Would you like to watch the seasons without Callum as well? I know... I ask too many questions
Posted Oct 21, 2009 1:01 pm PT
Ela: I love the head tilt I'll have to remind you about the Leoben vid. I'm sure everything will work out some how. Evan feels much better and went to school today. Tyler is still coughing a lot, no fever anymore.
Posted Oct 21, 2009 1:27 pm PT
Yipee! We can still celebrate Jodie's B-Day.
Posted Oct 21, 2009 1:27 pm PT
Ela: I found the gif somewhere, can't remember where tho. And forgot about it til yesterday, thought it was perfect. CKR was really hot in Bionic Woman, I like his character the most in that epi. I think I will watch a few epis of Cali in a few minutes (with headphones on, the kids are home) Thanks! I loved Seinfeld, one of the few comedies that I still love! See ya later!
Posted Oct 21, 2009 1:31 pm PT
Mark: Hey there stranger! I have seniority over the other p/timer and am more experienced so I'm lucky to get the bulk of the hours. The boys are recovering. They rested up for two days, Ev's back to school already. Gotta love Castiel! He's more than awesome in my book. Yeah, I think you would like Californication a lot.
Posted Oct 21, 2009 1:37 pm PT
Eleni: Hey there! I'm really glad that things are going so well at work. The boys are definately recovering. Just colds thank goodness. I'm sure things will work out for me. Have a great week1
Posted Oct 21, 2009 1:39 pm PT
Daria: Some actors are just perfect playing villians, but yeah, sometimes they get "type cast" and it's nice to see them do something different. When I heard the Dollhouse rumor I thought CKR would be great if he was cast as some kind of employee of the Rossum Corp. Not sure how long Evan's wellness is going to last 'cause right now he and Tyler are doing homework and Evan insists on sitting right next to Tyler while Ty coughs in his face. Argh! Awesome, A Ray dance! I'll download Due South after I'm done w/BSG. I'm about to watch E4 and the kinkiness is still wierd. I kinda liked Runkle in the first couple of epis. And I already dl'd S1

Sorry to hear about the job. I can empathize as I lost mine last November 15th after 11+ years with the same Fortune 500 company! My wife is older than me and had already retired so that made things interesting. I did get massive severence though which was good. I don't know how things are where you live, but my industry is still in the tank here so I just went back to one of my old careers from thirteen years ago. Congrats on the leveling! I just went up to 26! Bow Flex??? Where do they get these names? I enjoyed the rest of your blog. Great head shot! I hope you and your family are doing well. Take care, Jeffery

Hey Emiko! I've only just noticed your blog so I didn't see the bithday dedication! Thanks so much! I feel special now! I love the Misha pics and icons! He he I love that gif I don't know how he managed to keep a straight face doing that scene! I'd love to see the outtakes from that! I'm sorry to hear about the reduction in your hours but at least they haven't laid you off right? good luck finding the part time job! Once again thanks for the blog dedication! I'm gonna nab the icons

No new Supernatural this week? AWWWWW!
Posted Oct 21, 2009 2:16 pm PT
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Mack just told me: CKR is voted. 8.4. Your shout-out worked. Woohoo - only .1 to go. *waves arms in excitement*
Posted Oct 22, 2009 1:54 am PT
Callum plays everything perfectly He always becomes more awesome than the role really lets him be Aww well hopefully he won't get sick Oh you're still on episode 4... I'll go on with more questions now if you don't mind How much of BSG have you seen so far? Are you liking that better than Cali? Do you prefer Lew or Leoben (might be a little early to ask that )? What else except BSG, HI and Cali have you seen Callum on so far? and of course if you have any questions for me feel free to ask
Posted Oct 22, 2009 4:05 am PT
Sorry about your job. Job hunting can be hell (Part-time job hunting idk) Your blogs are so lively I love it. Yay for Misha Collins. If you like him, he was in a movie called Karla with Laura Prepon, he was amazing in it. Congrats on the new level, and I hope the kids get better.
Posted Oct 22, 2009 3:38 pm PT
BTW totally agree with you on House.
Posted Oct 22, 2009 3:39 pm PT
Sorry to hear abt the lost hours @ work. I hope the boys feel better. Is it flu? I saw that ep & I loved it when Paris Hilton lost her head. Yes Callum was 1 of the Cylons on BSG. Congrats on leveling up
Posted Oct 22, 2009 6:35 pm PT
Jeffery: I read in one of your blogs about you gaining employment, 60hrs+. Sounds like my hubby's schedule. Congrats. My sick time/vacation payout was a true blessing b/c I was able to put a few dollars in the bank, do some pantry restocking and spoil the boys a little. I said to myself 7 yrs ago I would never go back into retail, but if I can find something 5-10 hours a week I think I've recovered sufficiantly to go back into it. Thanks! Ahhh, Bow Flex. Quite a feat of mechanical engineering. A fitness machine that is compact yet versatile. LOL Have a great week!
Posted Oct 22, 2009 7:12 pm PT
Jodie: Well you're a special lady and deserve a little fun and attention. That was one of my most favoritist epis. Misha was beyond awesome. I'm thankful everyday for still having employment in this economy, yes. These days anyone is expendable and I'm very lucky indeed. Thanks for the good wishes. Hope we brightened your day!
Posted Oct 22, 2009 7:15 pm PT
Ela: YAY! It was 8.3 only a few days ago. *squees*
Posted Oct 22, 2009 7:16 pm PT
Hey. Good to see you blog, sorry I'm later but I'm here nevertheless. I also want a part-time job, but it's not happening either nobody thinks I'm good enough or they think I'm talking aload of bollocks on my CV. Happy be-lated birthday Jodie YUMMYYYYYY MISHA. I can't wait to see the new season of Supernatural - whenever that airs here in the UK. Talk to you later. *Hugs* Oh congratulations on leveling up too!

My hours have been terrible lately. Only 15 this week. Its been like this since summer tho.
Posted Oct 23, 2009 4:17 pm PT
Hi Emiko Sorry to hear about your hours and benefits being cut I wish you the best of luck in finding a part-time job to help Ooh, thanks fr the shout-out! CKR is tallying well for the meeting We have an Australian version of DWTS but after the first few seasons I lost interst Have a great weekend
Posted Oct 24, 2009 2:53 am PT
Daria: Already told you this on Twitter, I finished Cali S2. I was so sad when Lew died I'm trying to get my supervisor to watch it now, b/c I know it'll freak her out. Mwahaha. BSG is almost done dl'ing. Being that they are completely different genres I probably won't like one more that the other. Although I tend to like Scifi a lot more than comedies. I've seen CKR in SPN(of course), HI, Tru Calling, Bionic Woman and Bliss. I seem to love him as the villian. That's why I so excited for the new season of 24. And FlashForward!
Posted Oct 24, 2009 1:57 pm PT
Tristan: Thanks! Yeah, I hate job hunting, it's annoying. My hubby has a really good job so even if I don't find anything we'll be ok. I've heard about Karla, looks good. LOL I never have ttime to watch any movies, with all the TV I watch. Blogging always lifts my spirits. Thanks and the boys are recovering nicely.
Posted Oct 24, 2009 2:00 pm PT
Mike: Hey neighbor! Thanks, things will work out. Just a cold, and the boys are almost fully recovered. I could watch that scene over and over. the Cylons are the "artificial" ppl? Thanks.
Posted Oct 24, 2009 2:02 pm PT
Sarah: Hey! How are ya doing? Job hunting is annoying. Lots of Misha in the new season. It's probably best to download it. Thanks. Have a great weekend.
Posted Oct 24, 2009 2:04 pm PT
Rebecca: Sorry to hear that. *hugs*
Posted Oct 24, 2009 2:08 pm PT
Penny: Thanks. I'm positive that things will work out. I always try to see the silver lining. No problem. Although it was purely selfish, LOL. At last count CKR was in the lead Sometimes I watch DWTS more for the pros than the celebs.
Posted Oct 24, 2009 2:12 pm PT
Glad they're feeling better. Yeah the Cylons are really machines but 12 models look like people.
Posted Oct 24, 2009 5:28 pm PT
Yep, but I asked you here before the tweet lol at getting your supervisor to watch it I've gotten my BFF and my sister into the show, both love it Yay for BSG being almost done downloading!! It's an awesome show Ok so you hadn't seen him in anything I didn't know of then You should also check out some movies with him, it's good while you're watching BSG cause he's not in the show all that much... He makes a great villain, as long as he gets a good character. But sometimes villains are boring (and have bad teeth ). I'm much, much more excited about Shattered! Callum will make a perfect lead *squee*
