In response to Kate's blog about how Moonlight has been an escape from hardships of life, I felt it would be important for me to put into words how Moonlight effected me. I also think its important to remember why we are all here and remember what it is we're fighting for. Especially since ML's future is so uncertain. The past year and a half has been a difficult time. I met my Father for the first time, the last time he saw me, I was two years old. It was something that I didn't realize at the time, effected me greatly. I began to suffer extreme anxiety. I began to have anxiety attacks monthly, then weekly, then daily. The drive to work was even difficult. Many times I would shake and be in fear of just being outside. I began seeing a doctor for it and began therapy to learn ways to control my anxiety and get better. That's when Moonlight came along. I happened to catch the pilot episode that was being repeated on CBS. I was instantly hooked. I began researching the show online and stayed up until 5 am catching up on all the episodes. Then came the Moonlight daily routine... work, come home, cook dinner, watch Moonlight. It soothed me and gave me hope. I began using Moonlight as something to look forward too later in the day. It began helping me get through the days easier. I would carry my iPod with me and listen to Moonlight music. Moonlight became a medicine for me. Since then, I've been getting better. I haven't had an anxiety attack in two months! Yes, it's been two months without fear and doubt. There's a release that I haven't felt in a long time. I have Moonlight to thank for that. This is an emotional subject for me because it's been a very low time in my life. I never thought it'd happen to me. I'm still recovering today, but doing loads better. I have my moments but it gets better all the time. I think we all need to look back sometimes and remember what it was that brought us here. It helps us move forward. Helps us motivate to keep fighting. Thanks for listening and thanks Kate for writing your blog. I'm glad we can all share our stories and support our show and each other. Long live Moonlight!

Someone once said the bad times don't define us, they are just bad times. I think when we have bad times we go crazy trying to figure out why some things are so hard to deal with or why we can't seem to just fix ourselves immediately! Well we are human as any Vampire would know. Thanks for sharing your story. I agree Long live Moonlight!

So glad you felt like you could share it, Brooke, and even MORE glad that things seem to have taken an upward turn for you, that you've found some things that have helped you regain your footing and start getting stronger again. I'm not surprised at all that Moonlight and its music helped kick it off - it seems to reach so many people in so many ways. You're a great person to have on the forum and I'm so glad that you're finding your way to some peace. As Kate said, remember - your Moonlight family is here for you any time you need us.

I know what you mean Brooke. When I am having a bad day or things are not working out the way I want them to, I have turned to our friendly vampire detective, and suddenly i can get through the rough times. I listen to the music while I am at work and my co-workers comment on how much different I am when I do this. I think that moonlight has had a tremendous impact on all of us. More so than we probably realize. I am so glad to hear that you are doing better. My mom suffered through the same thing when I was growing up and I know exactly how difficult it can be at times. We are all here for you and will help you get through the hard times TOGETHER!
