I hope you'll all know number 9....
9. Dazzler

In the 80s, Marvel decided to cross promote with Casablanca Records and Dazzler was created. She's a mutant with the ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams, and of course she was a singer.
Starting in the disco era, Alison Blair soon moved on to other types of music.

She's also had quite a few looks over the years to go with her various types of music. She's also had a long standing romance/marriage with the mutant known as Longshot. I think my favorite costume of all time for Dazzler is the original silver bodysuit with the blue around her eyes.

In recent years Dazzler has become a figure in the comic Ultimate X-Men, which has turned the comic series upside down. In the series she is considered one of the most powerful mutants of all. I've read the series, but I'm not to fond of the new look.

One of the things I think is extra fun about Dazzler is that because she's a big singing star other mutants, even villains, are fans of hers. It's a nice twist to her character.
Tomorrow, number eight.

At this point I'm only going to share one at a time with you, but I'm going to try to add more pictures of them.
10. Batgirl

She's Barbara Gordon. No other Batgirl will do. Created in the 60s, Batgirl soon became even more popular than the duo of Batman and Robin. It's not hard to see why. When the television series Batman aired in the late 60s, Batgirl made her small screen debut. She was portrayed by Yvonne Craig.

I remember wanting to be Batgirl when I was little. Although, I wanted to be any super heroine when I was a kid. I remember Batgirl carried a purse, much like the original Batwoman did, for quite some time. I never understood why she needed that when she had her own utility belt like Batman, but I was a kid and only ever saw junk in my mom's purse.

In the late 80s Batgirl was shot by the Joker in the graphic novel The Killing Joke and she was paralyzed. Sadly, after all the hype she got in the 60s, her popularity began to waiver and by the time Alan Moore decided to take a superhero out of action in the book, it was decided that Batgirl was disposable.

So Batgirl became Oracle. And then the book Birds of Prey came along. Not to mention the series of the same name. We get a few glimpes of Batgirl in short-lived series, which I loved.

I've never stopped loving Batgirl, which is why she's in the top 10.

We're moving into the home stretch. After this blog, I will be doing the top ten a bit differently so don't be confused.
15. Rogue

Everyone loves Rogue. It could be the Southern accent (as heard in the numerous animated versions) or the skin tight costumes she wears. One of the things I love about her is also the saddest thing about her. Because of her mutant powers she can never make skin to skin contact with another person for fear of killing them. Her creators actually mapped out her origin in 1979, but in the end it was never revealed until years later. Over the years her powers have changed but her main power remains to be the
14. Starfire

I remember picking up a comic book while on vacation when I was younger and seeing Starfire on the cover (she was much different looking from the above picture) and thinking that she had to be an awesome character. It all had to do with her hair.
Hey, I'm a girl what can I say. She's super strong, can fly, and can project energy beams. I later found out that most of that hair really isn't hair at all, but the energy that trails her when she flies. This picture of Starfire is my favorite of the DC star of all time, it's done by none other than Michael Turner.
13. Polaris

It wasn't until recently that we found out for certain that Lorna Dane is the daughter of Magneto, but for years everyone suspected that Polaris, the Mistress of Magnetism, was indeed his daughter. She's been the long time girlfriend of Havok, brother of Cyclops, and is the half sister of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. She's also another Marvel character who has turned evil and gone by the name Malice. I think that she's a bit of a tragic character since she's been used by many villains in the Marvel Universe. Not to mention being left at the alter by Havok. But you've got to love that green hair.
12. Donna Troy

Donna Troy's Wonder Girl was basically a mistake. When DC created the Teen Titans in the 60s the writers thought that Wonder Girl was a side-kick to Wonder Woman and gave her the itentity of Donna Troy. It wasn't until a few years later that they gave Donna a proper origin. Over the years that I've been reading comics Donna has been many people; Wonder Girl, Troia, Darkstar, and Wonder Woman. There are rumors that Donna's Wonder Girl will be included in an upcoming DC Comics video game. I'm forever grateful that they brought Donna back to life after killing her off in 2005.
11. Huntress

When DC comics first introducted Huntress in the late 40s she was some sort of villain whom they later turned into Tigress. Or at least that's the official story.
The Huntress I first discovered was the 80s version, Helena Wayne, whose stories appeared as part of the Wonder Woman comics at the time. She was the daughter of Earth-Two Batman and Catwoman and in 1985 she was removed from DC's lineup. Finally in 1989 the current Huntress was brought into the world. Helena Bertinelli is part of Birds of Prey and also took over the role of Batgirl for a short time. If you watched Justice League Unlimited you'll remember her for appearing in three memorable episodes.
Coming soon, more of the list.

When I was researching Michael Zaslow while attempting to gain his guide, I learned quite a bit about the man who I watched for so many years. The kind and generous actor, who passed away in 1998, was truly one of the greatest men to ever work in...

Even before Top Chef's Second Season took place I knew I was going to root for him. He's a Long Islander, as I am, and that was reason enough to "vote" for him to win my favorite reality show.

Orlagh Cassidy is fantastic, but I just hate her! Or should I say, I hate Doris Wolfe, the woman she plays on the CBS soap Guiding Light.
