I really liked that destructiod blog and didn't really get an elitist mentality from it.

Shouldn't we, in this case, start from the outisde wold (into which everyone should venture every now and then, as was mentioned in that blog) for the logical search of the solution of the "problem"? After all, if Internet didn't exist, those people still would, and they'd be facing the same "problems" they're facing today, only with different preoccupations.
But I don't think we should fear of being put in the same bin; the author does mention promising Jocks and Bon-Ton aware Punks; the same goes here. But it's true there will always be 13-year-old boys who'll ask me if I'm gay if they tell me they're from Ohio, and I ask them do they like Pop-Tarts.
