!!!! Big News !!!!
I finally came out to my parents! About 2 years after I accepted that I am gay and 4 months after I came out at school.
I wrote them each a letter and left one at my dad's house at the weekend when I came home, and left the other on the kitchen table when I went to school today.
My dad phoned me last night and said that he was ok with it. He was the one I was worried about, as he is sort of a Catholic. But he was fine with it!
Then at school today I got a notice from the office saying my mum was meeting me after school, and we went down to the Thames, sat on the bank and talked for about half an hour. She was totally ok with it!
So now I am feeling very happy and as though a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders.
YAY!!! Now everyone who's important to me knows... except maybe my brother, I'm not sure about him. He recently went on a rugby tour to Italy, with a load of prefects from my year, who all knew. Naturally they all got totally drunk, so it might have come out then. But I'm not worried about that, my mum said she would have a little chat with him about it.

Congratulations. I'm so glad that your father accepted you for who you are. It must feel so great for you. And usually, that's what happens with religious relatives. They are upset/surprised at first, but within the hour, they accept it. I'm glad that your father accepted it immediately.

Congrats one of my friends at school is gay and he was worried about the same thing. Im glad it turned out well for you.

I am so glad they accepted it ok. I know how it was like coming out to my catholic parents. You feel like the world is yours now and you canaccomplish anything.

There's good and there's bad about coming out... Wait til your mom starts trying to fix you up with "nice boys" ;-)
Seriously congrats and good for you. You've shown courage and it will only make things easier in future. I know that it probably won't seem that way to you but things HAVE gotten easier in this regard.

Hey, thats great for you. I know it must have been a big burden keeping that secret from them. I've yet to come out, but I'll see how things work out. CONGRATS!!!!

It's a bit belated, but Congratulations! I was around your age when I came out to my family, so I have an idea what you're going through. Every situation is different, but thankfully yours is such that your parents are accepting of you for who you are and that's WONDERFUL! Parents don't always realize how important it is to their children to vocalize their approval/unconditional love, but apparently your parents know what they're doing!
