So the main point of this blog is to promote the book Season Finale: The Unexpected Rise & Fall of the WB and UPN

It just came out about a month ago and i heard about it from tvguide.com so i quickly headed over to amazon.com to check it out, after all i loved the WB in its time of awesomeness and of course watched UPN after Buffy switched and Veronica Mars came into the picture. When the CW was announced i was intrigued about how out of the blue the merger seemed, in the fall before the announcement i actually did a report for a class about the history of the WB and UPN and there were no rumors what so ever that indicated an end to either one. So like any obsessive TV viewer i was curious about the CW and wanted to know more but most people didn't really want to talk about it or even know what the heck the CW was. This book though totally rocks, i recommend it to anyone who just has any fascination with the TV industry and how network tv works. It is written by a WB insider and basically breaks down the 12 years of the two networks by each tv season discussing what was being seen on the air and what was going on behind the scenes in the offices.

On a more serious but equally interesting note yesterday began the WGA writers strike. It would be like the end of the world for me if all of my beloved TV shows came to an abrupt halt in a few weeks and TV would be taken over by reality shows but i also understand why the writers have gone on strike and i hope that a reasonable and fair deal can be reached for all involved. Al Gough and Miles Millar seem to explain the situation best in the article that was posted on kryptonsite.com... so i'm hoping for a quick resolution but it certainly is going to be interesting to see how this all plays out since i was far to young to remember the last writers strike, and i hope we won't have to see another one...

Doesn't look like the Writer's Strike will be over any time soon. Damn...

Anyway, that book sounds really interesting. I might but it off amazon/eBay/where-ever next time I have available money!
